Pet care experience

East Mesa B&B (Bone and Breakfast)

I've had many pets (dogs and cats) in my life and have showered love and attention on all of them. I live in a small ranch-style home in East Mesa with a large fenced in back yard where dogs love to sunbathe and frolic and chase the occasional errant chicken who hopped the wall from the next-door neighbor's. I work from home each day and I'm around most of the time to give my pup visitors a run in the yard or a walk around the neighborhood. I've used Rover myself in the past with other pets and so I know how important communication and building trust can be. I require a meet-and-greet before any new dog-sitting experience so we can get to know each other and establish a relationship. I know how important your furry friend is in your life and I honor that by treating them as well as I'd treat my own - like family. I'd be honored to be your dog's B&B! Dogs have comfortable places to relax while I'm working (dog beds, couch, bed, etc.), a rear fenced-in yard with grass, and pretty constant attention during the day. I am self-employed and work from home, so there is plenty of time to spend on the pups in my care. We take frequent breaks in the back yard, and if appropriate I will drive them to nearby Red Mountain Park for walks in the morning and evening. I have a rescue Pittie mix named Andie who is part of the dynamic of my home. Once she's met strange people or dogs and learned that they are okay, she's a total sweetheart. From what I know of her background and from what I've experienced, she is generally good with larger male dogs once they've been introduced. Other dogs it seems she can be with on a trial and error basis, but I wouldn't pair her with small dogs. She is high energy and like to chase and wrestle, so she may not be the best fit for all dogs. A meet-and-greet is essential to make sure she will get along with any client dog.

Pepper had a great day! We appreciate the updates and videos during the day. Pepper looks forward to playing with Andie again.

Our pup had multiple stays with David and Andie while we wintered in the area. From the walks and hikes, to the play, pup cups, and sunbathing in his yard- truly above and beyond. We will definitely be back next year!

Our experience with David B. was awesome, both times! Our dog Remi loves him and his dog Andie. I think she missed him when she came home! He gave us daily updates and we knew she was safe and happy. I can't recommend David B. enough for taking care of your fur babies! We will definitely use him again! Thanks again David!

Morphy had a wonderful time at David’s. He played with another dog in his big yard and got lots of snuggles. He always gets very excited when he sees him, and loves coming to stay. David’s communication is awesome.

David is amazing. My giant fluff gets so excited every time we pull up to his house. I’ve never seen my dog so tired ?

Schedule

I generally work my schedule around my doggie guests. LOL. Two walks a day are the rule, and lots of breaks in between. I'm around a lot, so the dogs are never alone for more than a few hours at a time.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

My home is dog-proofed for safety, the dogs have access to toys and comfortable places to relax and they always have access to food and fresh water. They are able to explore and play in the back yard, but are always supervised, and there are two large shade trees and a doggie pool when it gets too hot to run around but everyone still wants to be outdoors.

Pets

A typical day

I can take the dogs on walks around the neighborhood, but the best option is a short drive to Red Mountain Park in Mesa for a walk around the lake!

16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
David can host up to 1 pet per night
No breed preferences, but I'd obviously want to know of any socialization or aggression challenges. I would want to do a meet-and-greet in advance to make sure they get along with mine.
