Hello! We are a pet-loving family in Northeast Minneapolis who miss having a dog around the house and would love to fill that void by helping you out in your time of need! We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our beloved golden retriever a few years ago and while we'd love to add a dog to the house again, with two preschoolers our home life can be a handful and it just isn't the right time for the full commitment of dog ownership. That's why we love to open our hearts and home to furry guests! If you're visiting my profile for cat boarding, it is very much a cat-loving house as well - we have 2 cats in our home.

Dave seemed to be a good guy. He was working and did not follow with me after I picked up Tori to see how her stay went. It would have been nice to hear how she did and with him and his family. It’s always important to guide if this is a good match with Tori and family.
This was the 2nd time that Sexton my puggle has been with Dave. He greeted Sexton upon arrival and confirmed all items - including food details, walk details, etc. I believe my dog was happy and well taken care of in Dave's care.
Dave is an amazing pet sitter! Oona felt so comfortable and relaxed with him right away. He was also super understanding and flexible when we got delayed at work, staying up late with her until we could pick her up. We really appreciate his care and help. Highly recommend Dave to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!
Dave and family were super awesome hosts to my old man for the weekend! He has trouble moving around with his arthritis, but they made sure to walk him with his little harness and get them outside in the grass where he could lounge around! His little girls also tucked him in - so sweet!! Highly recommend for anyone looking for hands-on attention for their loved ones while they are away! Will definitely be reaching out when Puckett needs another weekend away from dad - 20 out of 10!!
Luna had a great weekend with Dave and his family. We got lots of updates/pictures. We will book again!
Our very high energy papillon, Freddie, stayed with Dave and his family for nearly a month while we were traveling. Dave was proactive and responsive with his communication and we received regular updates with pictures. Freddie had a wonderful time and loved all of the attention! He was obviously well-cared for and was healthy and happy when we picked him up. Dave will be our go-to for our future pet-sitting needs!

Schedule
I work a hybrid schedule, with flexibility and leniency to choose when I go into office. Daytime schedules are flexible for potty breaks, walks, and stimulation. Always available in the evenings to get some energy out before bedtime. As you can see in the photos, our daughters have inherited the pet-loving genes from their parents - your pet will never be without attention!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a decent-sized yard but not fenced in. We do have a long leash we can attach in the backyard so your pet can be with us while we're playing outside. Our neighborhood is very sidewalk friendly and bustling with other dog owners. Your dog will always be leashed when out of the house. We are also very friendly with the neighbors next door, fully-fenced, and can use their backyard for off leash time. We have two cats in our home who are very sweet and have had no issues with any of our guests. But our standard is just to create separate floors (unless it's a known guest) so there need not be any interaction during your pet's stay to avoid conflict. One cat tends to make herself scarce during our guests' visits, while the other watches curiously and without incident. Our basement is finished and I always stay down there with our guests and sleep on the couch when we have visitors (they're welcome to cuddle!). As for cat boarding - the same as above applies, we can always create separate areas for litter/feeding for your cat and the resident cats. You will get frequent photo and text updates throughout your pet's stay - take a look at my reviews to confirm. Apologies if the stats on my profile don't indicate 100%, as I tend to keep in touch over text messages as opposed to Rover's messaging (which is what counts towards that metric).

A typical day
Your pet will be my buddy during the day while I work from home, a comfortable finished basement with lots of toys and couch and blankets to lay on, and two little girls who are pet lovers who love to play with our guests. Our neighborhood is completely lined with sidewalks and always busy with other dogs - lots of smells to investigate! And for cats, we have plenty of cat toys, cat nip, scratching posts, etc. to keep your pet stimulated. Lots of birds in the trees and feeders outside the windows, too!
