About Sophie

Sophie is 11 years old. She is house broken for the most part but will use the bathroom inside if you do not pay attention to her. She always poops about 20-30 mins after you feed her. She is old, so I think she is starting to not care and also just cannot hold her bladder/bowel movements as long anymore. I also watch her when I take her out to be sure she actually went to the bathroom. She loves, loves, loves toys!! Give her toys and she will be happy! She also loves to play fetch!! She enjoys going on short walks too. She loves people. She is okay with other dogs as long as they do not jump around her, especially her face. She will growl and/or snap if they annoy her but will not bite. She likes adults and older dogs more than she likes puppies. She is alright with cats, she likes them. She is okay with kids as long as they do not try to pick her up or touch her face or neck. She will growl and snap if they touch somewhere she does not like. Sophie is very low maintenance. She does not need a lot of attention, affection or petting. She has never been the type to want that. Only from me really! She is not a lap dog. She prefers to lay on the side of you. She also likes to sleep in the bed but will sleep in her kennel if she has to. If you have to leave to go somewhere, she is to stay in her kennel. She is a very good dog and very smart and spoiled. She loves me very much and can have separation anxiety and misses me a lot when I am not around. Very important thing, she has mild IVDD in her neck. Her neck is sensitive and I refrain from touching it and walking her by a collar. She only walks on a harness. If another dog is around, do not let it jump around by her, especially on her. I have had two cases before where another dog has accidentally jumped on her and it hurt her neck. If her neck is injured, you will know. She will curl up in pain and cry and will limp on her right front leg. The nerve in her neck leads to that leg and hurts it and gives her trouble walking. She also has bad muscle spasms in her neck whenever it gets injured. So just please do everything you can to not injure her neck. It has been almost two years now since her neck injuries. She is fine and you would never know something is wrong. She is very lively and happy for her age. Any other questions, just ask! Thank you!

About Judge

I rescued Judge in October 2017. The shelter told me he was about 3 years old and my Veterinarian told me the same. He came to me with a clean bill of health. He is potty trained and can hold it up to 10 hours. He is kennel trained. I leave him out though and he does great. He will sleep on the floor in his bed, on the sofa or in his kennel. He will sleep with you all night in the bed if you cuddle him though. He has no health issues. He gets along great with my Dachshund Sophie. Sophie has grown to love him. He tends to do well with other dogs too. Loves to run around and play with other dogs. I introduced him to a kitten once and he was afraid of it (LOL). So I am sure he will not bother any kitties. He is very sweet, calm and gentle! He is not hyper like you think he would be due to his breed. He loves toys and to cuddle! All he wants is to lay in your lap and be pet. He loves affection and loves people! He is a really great dog!
