We both work from home, which means your dog will have company, supervision and interaction throughout the day. No long hours left alone. There’s a full lunchtime walk, plus shorter walks and sniff breaks in the morning and evening. We’re lucky to have four parks on our doorstep, so we easily mix up routes and keep things interesting.

Safety, trust & environment
Dogs stay in a safe, relaxed and comfortable environment. We’re big believers in routine, reassurance and making sure each dog feels secure. Visiting dogs are treated like part of the family. If your dog is allowed on the sofa at home, they’re welcome on ours too. We host in a clean, two-bed flat with plenty of space for rest and downtime. You’re welcome to bring your dog’s bed, blankets or favourite comfort items to help them settle. We follow any routines or rules that matter to you so your dog experiences a familiar rhythm. Staying with us includes regular updates and photos, so you always know how your dog is doing. If you have any specific needs or requests, just say. We adapt to each dog as an individual.

Information Darragh B. would like to know about your pet
We want to make sure every dog is a good fit for our home, Holly and our environment. It’s helpful to know: • How your dog feels around other dogs • Any anxieties, triggers or comforts that help them settle • Their normal routine, sleeping arrangements and house rules • Any medical needs, allergies or behaviour quirks The more we know, the more we can make their stay feel like a home-from-home.
A typical day
A stay usually starts with a gentle morning walk to set the tone for the day. After breakfast and some play or cuddle time, we both work from home so your dog will have company, stimulation and regular attention. There’s a proper walk at lunchtime, then some downtime or enrichment depending on your dog’s energy levels. Evenings include another walk, play or sofa snuggles before settling in for the night. Dogs slot easily into our routine and often end up snoozing next to Holly after a day well spent.

Star Sitters with a Family Feel
Pet care experience
We’re a Star Sitter couple who provide a calm, reassuring home for dogs to settle in and feel part of the family. We live with our gentle dog Holly, who is brilliant with visiting dogs and helps them relax from the start, so we only host dogs who are comfortable with others. Ellen grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and has been caring for dogs her whole life, from tiny Jack Russells to large breeds like Irish Wolfhounds. She has years of dog sitting experience and a natural instinct for helping dogs feel secure. I’ve cared for dogs regularly through family and friends, including my brother’s Labrador who stayed with us every week for a full year. We rescued Holly three years ago and understand the patience and care that nervous or sensitive dogs sometimes need. Owners often tell us their dogs settle faster here than anywhere else and feel right at home. That’s the standard we aim for every time.
Reviews

My dog had a wonderful time staying with Darragh and co! I was sent lots of updates which were much appreciated, and I could see that they made every effort to make my little dog feel at home there. Holly was a great dog-host too!!

Darragh and his partner looked after Lila for a weekend, she looked very content in the photos he shared with us. Communications were very straightforward and friendly, it was all very easy and I felt confident Lila was well looked after. Thanks very much!

Darragh & Ellen are absolutely lovely, and our dog loves their dog Holly. We know she’s in such good hands whenever she’s with them ☺️

Darragh & Ellen have been looking after my puppy Evie a few times now & they've recently had her for a two-week period while I went on holiday. They gave daily photos and videos so I got pictures whenever I got access to wifi & have been great at communicating generally so we can stay in touch across time zones. If your pup needs extra care e.g. medications they are great with that too. Holly is a great pal to Evie now as well so Evie was very excited to visit!
