I’ve grown up surrounded by animals, including dogs, cats and other pets, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routines and little quirks. Whether it’s a playful dog who needs plenty of enrichment, a nervous pet who needs patience and reassurance, or a cat who prefers calm and consistency, I take the time to understand what makes each animal feel comfortable and safe. I’m attentive to the small details — changes in behaviour, body language, preferences and routines — because I believe great pet care is about more than the basics. It’s about creating trust and making sure your pet feels happy and cared for while you’re away. I’d love to welcome your dog or cat into a calm, caring environment where they receive the attention and respect they deserve.

My priority is creating a safe, calm and comfortable environment where every pet feels secure. My home has a fully fenced garden, providing a safe outdoor space for pets to enjoy fresh air and supervised time outside. I always prioritise safety, including being mindful of each pet’s behaviour, needs and comfort levels. As I have my own cats, I take introductions and boundaries seriously. I would provide separate spaces where needed, allowing each pet time to settle and feel secure in their own environment. Any interactions between pets would always be carefully considered, gradual and supervised, based on the individual temperament of each animal. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, respected and understood. By maintaining clear routines, providing individual attention and adapting care to each animal’s personality, I aim to create a positive and stress-free experience while they are in my care.

As Darleen’s mum, I have watched her grow up surrounded by animals. From childhood she has cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and many other pets, always showing incredible patience, responsibility and love. Animals have always been a huge part of her life. Our family pets were never “just animals” to her—they were family. She has always gone above and beyond, whether it was caring for our rabbits and creating a safe outdoor space for them, helping with our cats, or looking after dogs for friends when they were away. Schedule
I work from home, which allows me to build pet care naturally into my daily routine and provide regular attention throughout the day. My days already include structure, including daily walks and time dedicated to being active and outdoors, so caring for a pet fits naturally alongside my existing routine. I enjoy creating a calm and consistent environment where pets can feel comfortable and settled. When caring for pets alongside my own cats, I prioritise their comfort and safety. I would provide separate spaces where needed, allowing each pet to have their own area, routine and time to relax. For example, visiting cats would have their own dedicated space while they settle in, with individual time spent with them throughout the day, while my own cats have their familiar areas. For dogs, I would take a similar approach by managing introductions carefully and making sure each pet has the space and attention they need. I believe pets are happiest when they feel secure, respected and able to adjust at their own pace. My goal is to make pet care feel like a natural part of my day while ensuring every animal receives personalised attention, routine and companionship.
