Because I work from home, pet care fits naturally and easily into my daily routine, and me and my partner are around throughout the day. This means I can offer constant companionship, which is especially comforting for nervous pets who don’t like being left alone. Being home most of the time also allows for regular toilet breaks, flexible feeding times, and walks whenever your dog needs them — whether that’s early mornings, midday strolls, or extra outings for dogs who need a little more support. Our routine is very adaptable, so we’re more than happy to follow your dog’s usual schedule and any special requests. Your dog will never be left alone and will always have plenty of attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. Buddy is also at home, providing friendly company and helping visiting dogs feel more settled and at ease. This flexibility allows us to focus fully on your dog’s comfort, happiness, and wellbeing, helping them feel relaxed, cared for, and right at home during their stay.

Safety, trust & environment

We live in a three-bedroom house with plenty of space for dogs to relax, play, and feel at home. We also have a lovely, fully fenced garden, so dogs can safely enjoy time outside, have a run around, or just potter about in the fresh air. Inside, our home is very relaxed and dog-friendly. Pets are treated as part of the family and are welcome to be wherever we are — on the sofa, in the bedroom, or curled up nearby. We don’t have any “off-limits” areas, and we want every dog to feel comfortable and settled from the moment they arrive. Our aim is to create a calm, safe, home-from-home environment where your dog can truly relax and enjoy their stay.

Information Darina H. would like to know about your pet

Meet and greet at my home would be really helpful for the first visit. That way, they can see where the dog would be staying and we can make sure everyone feels comfortable. It would also be great to go over the dog’s routine, walking preferences, feeding schedule, and any specific needs or behaviours, so I can provide the best care possible.

A typical day

On a typical day, I usually take my dog for a walk at lunchtime and again in the evening, but I’m very flexible and can also go in the morning if needed. After work, I spend lots of time playing with them and giving them plenty of attention. I like to use lick mats and other enrichment activities that stimulate their brains, like treat-finding games, so they stay happy, engaged, and relaxed in the afternoons.

Pet care experience

Me and my partner have always been huge animal lovers, and we’ve got plenty of hands-on experience caring for pets every single day. We’re lucky to have a much-loved member of our family, Buddy, who is very friendly and playful, and we’ve both grown up with animals around us, so we’re very comfortable caring for pets and understanding their different personalities and needs. We treat every pet as if they’re our own, making sure they get lots of walks, playtime, cuddles, and reassurance. We know how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone else, so our goal is always to make sure your pet feels happy, loved, and settled — and that you can enjoy complete peace of mind while you’re away.

I can’t recommend Darina highly enough! From the moment we connected, she was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and genuinely kind. It’s clear that she truly cares about the dogs she looks after and goes above and beyond to make both pets and owners feel comfortable. This is my first time using Rover given Henry is my first dog and puppy, so finding someone I could completely trust was incredibly important to me. Like most dog owners, I absolutely adore him, and leaving him in someone else’s care for the first time was a big step. Darina immediately put my mind at ease. I especially loved that Darina took the time to ask about Henry’s routine and made every effort to follow it, which gave me so much reassurance that he was being cared for exactly as I would care for him myself. Her home is absolutely spotless, warm, and welcoming, and you can immediately tell that dogs are treated like part of the family there. Darina and her partner are a lovely couple, and Henry was so happy, settled, and well cared for during his stay. As an added bonus, Henry got on brilliantly with their Cavapoo, who is exceptionally well trained and such a lovely dog. It was wonderful to know he had such great company during his stay. I feel incredibly lucky to have found them and to have people I trust completely to look after Henry. Knowing he’s in such caring and capable hands gives me total peace of mind. We will definitely be booking with Darina again, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional dog care - Thank you for everything Darina ☺️
