I'm flexible with scheduling, available for last-minute bookings, and able to accommodate pets that need extra time and attention throughout the day.

For house sitting, I ask a lot of questions upfront: routines, quirks, preferences, emergency contacts, etc. I want to be as prepared as possible before I walk out the door. Once I'm there, I treat the space with respect and keep everything tidy and exactly as the owner left it. My job is to make sure both pet and home are in great shape when the owner returns. I follow the pet's existing routine as closely as possible because familiar rhythms are what keep animals calm and comfortable when their people are away.

The more I know, the better I can care for your pet, so I love a thorough handoff. Before any stay I want to know about aggression or reactivity history, behavioral triggers, medical conditions and medications, feeding schedules, treat limits, and vet and emergency contact info. For dogs: how are they on leash, can they interact with other dogs and people, and what does a good walk look like for them? For cats: where's the carrier, what are their comfort items, and do they have any rituals — needing an audience to eat, a preferred way to be held, a favorite hiding spot? Special clothing, comfort items, and favorite toys are always good to know too. No detail is too small!

Every day looks a little different depending on your pet's personality and needs, but I always make sure they're getting a mix of activity and rest. For dogs, that means regular walks through the neighborhood and nearby parks and community gardens (including Prospect Park when energy levels and weather call for it) plus indoor play like tug of war, fetch, and whatever games they love most. For cats, it's interactive play, quality hang time, and respecting their rhythm. I follow your pet's existing routine as the foundation and build fun around it because a tired, happy pet who still feels at home is the goal.

A lifetime with dogs (huskies, dalmatians, pitbulls, spaniels, chihuahuas, terriers, staffy/shepherd mixes, shih tzus, doodles, and more!) means your dog is in experienced hands. I've house and pet sat for clients, coworkers, and friends for years, including reactive and anxious dogs, aging pets, and very hyper ones who just need a little more patience and attention. One of my favorite things about this work is learning the unique personalities of every animal. When owners tell me about their pets' weird rituals, walking quirks, and favorite toys, it tells me everything about how well loved they are. I wouldn't expect to be your pet's favorite person, but I'd love to be a reason they feel safe and happy while you're away. I'm comfortable administering oral, topical, and ear medications, so pets with health routines are always welcome. When your pet is with me, you'll get regular photo updates and lots of communication throughout the stay.
