Pet care experience

Ace Ventura for pets 🐶😻

I’m Darcy, and I have two corgi roommates, Gouda & Asiago, rescued through PAWS. I've completed 650+ bookings on Rover for 240 pet parents (99 being repeat clients). My experience includes walking, sitting, and boarding all sorts of dogs (long and short legs alike), cats, and exotic pets (fish, hermit crabs, birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, and even a pet mouse). I treat every animal I watch/walk/board with the same love, affection, and patience I treat my own fur babies. Chances are I'll even make up songs about your pet(s) like I do with my own pets! 🐶 I have experience working with dogs that have very particular needs (both medical and temperamental). You can feel confident that your pet's needs will be met (and exceeded) in my care. I've fostered over 18 dogs, mostly seniors with special medical and/or behavioral needs. My most recent foster fail, Agatha, was a blind and diabetic senior who transformed from a shy stray into a confident and sassy queen during our 5 years together. While she crossed the rainbow bridge in February 2025, I learned so much from her about caring for special needs animals. 🐶 I also have 8+ years of experience with dog training, and I would love to practice any tricks and/or obedience with your dog. My interest in dog training started with my first corgi, Walter. Although he crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023, I still have a wealth of knowledge from training him since puppyhood in obedience, agility, nosework, rally, and trick dog classes. Let me know if there is anything you'd like me to focus on during the booking! 😻 While I don't currently have a cat, most of my recent Rover sittings are cat sittings. My first corgi had a similar PAWsonality to a cat. I’ve learned how to play it cool until I gain your cat’s trust. I treat every animal I watch/walk/board with the same love, affection, and patience I treat my own fur babies. Chances are I'll even make up songs about your pet(s) like I do with my own pets! 😻 During cat sittings, I will change out the food/litter, scatter treats/catnip around the apt, provide playtime (or none at all) depending on what your kitty is comfortable with, and administer medications if necessary. I also love to clean and will tidy up your apt/house (running the roomba/vacuum, taking out trash, emptying/loading the dishwasher, watering the plants, getting the mail, and anything else you'd like while you are away. Rover has helped me meet more dogs & cats in the South Loop & helped me give my dogs a better life!

Safety, trust & environment

For services in my home, my two pups can keep each other occupied. They are good about respecting other dog's space if they don't want to engage. But, they'd love to play and make new dog friends! I have a dog run in the building for easy trips to get exercise. Dogs are allowed (and preferred) on the couch and my bed. I have a medium/large crate if your dog is more comfortable sleeping in a crate at night, so you won't need to transport one. For services in your home, I will happily take out the trash, water plants, vacuum, empty/load the dishwasher, get the mail, and tidy up your space before the final visit.

This is my second time with Darcy. She did a great job with the cats. She was responsive, and communicated well. I felt safe leaving my cats with her. The cats seemed to like her as well!

Darcy was absolutely amazing! She was so good with our shy cat and sent us sweet update photos daily. She even tidied up our apartment without being asked to, which was amazing to come back to after a trip! I would recommend her to anyone!

Darcy was fantastic! She cared for my senior cat with love and attention, making friends with this scaredy-cat. She went above and beyond for us while I was out of town for a week. I’ll definitely be booking Darcy the next time I am away. Thank you Darcy!!!

Excellent and trustworthy sitter! I’ve booked with Darcy twice now and each time Darcy not only took great care of the pets, but the home as well. If you’re in the area I’d highly recommend choosing Darcy!

Darcy is always very attentive to our cat's needs. She goes above and beyond to make sure they're comfortable while we're gone. We appreciate the small details, such as unloading our dishwasher, running our vacuum, and watering our plants. She really does it all! Thank you again, Darcy!

I work from home, which allows me to give your pet(s) all the love and attention they desire throughout the day. My routine is very adaptable to accommodate any guest's routine.

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
Darcy can host up to 20 drop-ins per day
1. Does your pet have any food allergies? I’ll love to give guests yummy treats (I.e. frozen Kong’s, bully sticks, puzzle toys) during their stay. 2. What kind of activities do they like best? Is your dog a lap dog that loves to nap? Does your dog enjoy long walks/runs? 3. How frequently do you want updates? I am a crazy dog mom myself, so I’ll normally send one whenever we are doing something fun! 4. For boardings/daycare, I can give them a bath in my building’s professional-quality dog spa.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
