In addition to many years of experience caring for pets of family and friends, I have been with Rover since 2016. Now that I have a home and fenced-in yard in Gulfport, MS, I offer boarding and doggy daycare services in addition to drop-in visits, walking, and housesitting. I have cared for many senior dogs with special dietary needs and also on oral/topical medications. My own dog, Chip, is very patient and tolerant of the many dogs who are coming and going in our lives. One note: I am allergic to cats, which limits me to very brief drop-in visits only for felines. I look forward to meeting my Mississippi Gulf Coast neighbors, and visitors, and caring for your furry friends. Thanks for dropping by.

Dannah is absolutely fantastic! She kept our senior furbaby (who has several challenges) for a week and a half and obviously took great care of him. He was calm and happy when I picked him up. She handled the hard situations with stride and kept me well informed on how he was doing throughout the stay. I can't recommend Dannah enough and will definitely be booking again!

Schedule
Pet care is my primary vocation now. I'm also a freelance writer and editor. My day is centered around dogs' meals, bathroom breaks and playtime. Dogs that are trained to potty only on a leash are walked, of course.

I have a secure, fenced-in backyard accessible from the house by a doggie door but of course dogs that aren't used to that get all the assistance they need. Crates are used only when I'm out of the house. If a dog is frightened by a crate, he/she is separated in a bedroom by a baby gate. I have a limited number of crates, beds, blankets, dishes, leashes, toys and treats for guests who don't have their own. I allow dogs on the furniture. Sleeping in the bed with the human is on a first come/first served basis.

A typical day
On drop-in visits, I have played ball, Frisbee, and blown bubbles to get doggies moving. If your neighborhood isn't conducive to walks beyond the usual bathroom breaks, I am pleased to drive him/her to a park or other greenspace, such as school/church grounds. If the nearest appropriate location is more than a mile from your home, a slightly higher rate will be required.
