Pet care experience

Flexible and Experienced Sitter

I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, including currently taking care of two kittens of my own. I truly see pets as family and always care for other people’s pets the same way I would care for my own. I’m very attentive to animals’ behaviors and needs, whether they’re bored, tired, dehydrated, stressed, sick, or just needing attention and playtime. I have experience watching multiple dogs at once and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pets with someone, and I always do my best to provide a caring and reliable environment.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and wellbeing. I pay close attention to cats’ behavior and can usually tell when they’re stressed, sick, dehydrated, tired, playful, or needing space. I keep a calm and clean environment and make sure pets have fresh water, food, attention, and a safe place to rest. I also have experience caring for kittens, senior cats, and cats needing extra patience or medication. I’m happy to provide updates and photos so owners feel comfortable while away. I live in a gated apartment complex community with a big fenced field right behind my patio and a lot of space to take your dogs on a walk or play with them.

House Sitting • Aug 09, 2026

This was my first experience using Rover, and unfortunately it was an extremely upsetting one. My grandfather passed away unexpectedly, and I had to leave the state on short notice for his funeral. Because my dog is not accustomed to being alone for extended periods and has never slept alone, I specifically booked a house sitter. I chose this sitter because of her many 5-star reviews and repeat clients. We had a meet-and-greet beforehand where I explained my dog’s care, the house, and her accommodations. I also left detailed written instructions. She provided her full-time work schedule in advance, which I agreed to. On the first day, however, she spent only about an hour at my house due to having scheduled an appointment prior to arriving and then another dog sit that had never been disclosed to me before accepting my booking. She went from the other dog sit directly to work and did not return until around midnight. In the meantime I had to ask a friend to check on my dog and discovered that the sitter had left him without water in his enclosure. Without my intervention, he would have been alone for nearly 13 hours without access to water. When I reached out to her and requested her complete schedule, she then disclosed several additional dog sits she had scheduled during my house-sitting booking and other unknown appointments. However, even after providing this revised schedule, she repeatedly did not follow it, often leaving 1.5–2 hours earlier than stated and returning later than promised. The worst incident occurred Friday night into Saturday morning. The sitter left my house at Friday night and did not return until Saturday morning, leaving my dog alone essentially the entire night. I woke up to hours of camera footage showing him confined in his enclosure crying, confused, and agitated. I had received no call or messages explaining that she would be gone all night or what had happened or why she returned in the morning for less than 30 minutes. I understand that Rover sitters may have other clients and obligations, and I had no problem accommodating the full-time work schedule she disclosed to me before I booked. What I did not agree to was numerous undisclosed additional pet-sitting commitments and other unknown extended absences that resulted in my dog being left alone for extremely long periods, without water on one occasion, and overnight despite my specifically booking house sitting because he cannot be left alone overnight. Having this happen while I was out of state attending my grandfather’s funeral made an already difficult situation considerably more stressful. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this sitter, particularly to anyone booking house sitting because their pet requires regular companionship or cannot be left alone for extended periods.

Danielle did great with taking care of my two dogs and cat while we were away. She went above and beyond with her communication, sending pics and taking her time walking and feeding the pets. She even helped clean up with one of my dogs who had a poopy situation which was not at all expected, I felt bad my dog got runs while I was away. But she helped give him sweet potato so he felt better and even bought peewee pads, which just kept my mind at ease knowing my dog was being cared for. I would definitely rehire her again, she was just the best!

Schedule

I currently have a flexible schedule with a part time job, which allows me to spend plenty of time caring for and checking in on pets throughout the day. I make sure cats get attention, playtime, clean food and water, litter box care or walks, and a comfortable environment while their owners are away. I’m patient with shy or anxious pets and always try to follow their normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel safe and relaxed.
