Pet care experience

From Teacups to Titans-I'm Ready!

Hello, fellow pet lovers! I’m a lifelong animal enthusiast with a heart full of love for all creatures great and small. My journey into the world of pet care started back in grade school with my first furry friend, a miniature schnauzer named Reno. I adored him from puppyhood to the bittersweet day I took him to the vet to say goodbye. Fast forward to 18, when I welcomed Tucker, the most amazing pit bull on the planet (I might be a bit biased!). I raised him from a tiny pup and trained him from day one, turning him into a superstar ambassador for his breed with a heart of gold. I live by the motto that "tired puppies are happy puppies!" A sprinkle of common sense and a hearty dose of patience can work wonders in raising happy, well-behaved fur babies. After 15 unforgettable years with Tucker (can you say "senior care"??), I said my goodbyes, but my passion for pet care is stronger than ever! While I don’t have a dog of my own right now, I’m eager to shower your pets with all my love and experience. But wait, there's more! I also raised a wonderfully quirky "barn cat" named Meredith—she's wider than she is long and blind in one eye, and she brings so much joy to our home! Alongside her are her two playful Siamese siblings, ensuring there’s never a dull moment. I’m well-versed in handling a few quirky challenges too, like using pine pellet litter for my cats with respiratory issues and administering medications when needed. Special diets? You bet I can manage that too! I can’t wait to meet your furry family members and provide them with the same love and attention I’ve given my own pets throughout the years. Let’s make tails wag and purrs abound!

We had an awesome experience with Danielle! She watched our 12 year old pup, who is like our child. We went away for 11 days and Danielle made sure to send us plenty of updates and check-ins. Our house was left just as clean as we had left it. Our neighbors told us how nice Danielle was and how they always saw her out walking koda (our dog). It was reassuring! We will 💯 use her again and would recommend her to all of our friends.

Dani was great with our boy, Jackson. She sent tons of pictures and videos to keep us updated while we were away and left our house spotless.

Let me preface this by saying that Cooper is a recent rescue and one of our major concerns we expressed was him being left alone for long periods and feeling abandoned while we were gone. In conversations prior to booking with Dani, we were told she worked remotely and also was a homebody so would be around the majority of the time so we felt good about choosing her. We also made it known that Cooper was not to go out without his harness since he pulled a lot on his leash and we knew he could pull out of his collar. Unfortunately, we saw multiple times on multiple days on our Ring camera where Cooper was taken out without his harness. In addition, Cooper was left alone for longer periods of time than we thought he would be left alone - the last night he was alone almost 6 hours in the evening. What we had thought would be a great fit did not turn out to be such.

Danielle took wonderful care of our dog, Piper, and our home while we were away. She followed our requests perfectly, sending thoughtful updates and photos twice a day, which gave us total peace of mind throughout our trip. We returned to a happy, relaxed pup and a spotless home—both in excellent shape. It was clear Piper was well-loved and in great hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Danielle again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, communicative, and caring sitter.

Dani was wonderful with Cooper - you can tell he loves being with her and feels comfortable. We will be using her for an upcoming overnight stay and wanted her to spend some time with him before that date - Cooper is a recent rescue for us so we are a bit overprotective. You can tell she loves dogs and they love her which makes us feel at ease leaving him.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I work fully remote with an extremely flexible schedule. I'm an early riser--up around 5:30 every morning --and arrange my activities based on what works best for me. I do have conference calls which can be taken on the go.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

This is entirely dependent upon the needs of the pet and preferences of the parents. If we're talking about my place, I live in an apartment--don't panic. This apartment is situated amongst acres of farm fields on a small airport owned by my family. We're also just minutes from the rail trail and Chiques rock area. If in your home, we work based on your established routine. I'm very familiar with crate training but I'm also happy to have your furry friend tag along with me--I love taking fur friends to River Trail Brewing, super dog friendly, as well as meandering around Marietta or Columbia! If your preference is that we stay at your home and in your neighborhood then I'm more than happy to do that as well. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable and at ease. It's not very beneficial to hire help to presumably lighten your load if your time is then spent worrying about what's happening with your pet. My goal is to make sure you feel secure in the fact that your fur friend is safe and well-loved in your absence (long or short). That looks different for everyone so we will talk about your preferences and expectations to make sure you have exactly what you need to feel comfortable and confident.

A typical day

A typical day will depend on your pet. I strive to hit the right balance of exercise, mental engagement, and down time--based on their unique needs. Hot summer day with 100% humidity? Your senior English Bulldog will have different day than another client's two year old Australian shepherd. I love to be outdoors so walks around the neighborhood, catch in the backyard, maybe a hike for our more adventurous friends. Plenty of dog friendly restaurants around so always fun to take a field trip! Obviously we need some lounge time so couch cuddles are a must.

Always enjoy hearing about the unique needs of a new-to-me fur friend. Like I would with a child, let's talk about allergies, medication, and medical conditions. Then let's cover their usual routine, your expectations of their behavior and how you would like me to help support good behavior and correct undesired behaviors. Tell me about their feelings on social situations--are they hesitant about other animals? Would the train going by really upset them? If they're missing mom/dad, what's the best thing I can do to comfort them? Is there a favorite treat? Toy? Activity? The more informed I am, the better I am able to provide the absolute best experience for pet and parents.
