Active, Adventure-Loving Dog Person
I've lived with dogs almost my entire life, and adopted my first dog 15 years ago. I've since owned two Border Collies, who both participated in advanced agility and obedience work. I'm comfortable with high-drive, working breeds as well as your typical pet dogs. I have also trained and lived with Golden Retrievers, Labs, Pitties, Havanese and Shih Tzus, so I'm familiar with a wide range of breeds, and I've cared for dogs in all stages of life -- from puppies to seniors. Whether your pup is a cuddle-loving couch potato or a ride-or-die adventure pal, they'll fit in great here!

Danielle took such good care of my little bug! He was super nervous after I left, but Danielle took him for a nice walk to get the jitters out and let him cuddle her and her kids (and even sent me pictures of him laying across their arms while on their laptop) and he immediately warmed up. I was so grateful she came through for me for a last minute booking. Will absolutely be bringing Archie to her again!
Danielle and her family took wonderful care of Olly over a holiday weekend. He’s an older dog who is sensitive to his care and surroundings and we are grateful for the careful, thoughtful care Danielle provided!
Great communication and daily pictures! Mabel seemed very happy (and tired - always a good sign) when she got back home. We will definitely book with Danielle again.
This was the first time I had to board my 1yr old golden for a week, and I was so anxious about leaving her that long. I highly recommend Danielle, she relieved all my fears. My dog was so well taken care of and treated like one of the family. She kept me updated and sent me wonderful pics of my dog having the best time.
Danielle was amazing with our pup! She spent time to make him comfortable and ensured to keep him busy. She seemed to have a great working knowledge of proper dog interactions and was an excellent communicator. She followed any instructions that were requested. Sent us plenty of pictures and provided updates. I appreciate her honesty and feedback. Will absolutely be back!
Danielle and her family were absolutely incredible with my dog, Pretzel! From the moment I dropped him off, I could tell he was going to be fully embraced as part of their family. She provided timely updates, photos, and messages that truly put my mind at ease — and honestly made me miss my boy even more in the sweetest way. Pretzel was active, engaged, and showered with cuddles — exactly the kind of love and attention he receives at home. It genuinely felt like while I was on vacation, he was on one too! The level of care Danielle and her family provided was exceptional. When I brought Pretzel home, I could even tell he felt the “void” of leaving them — which speaks volumes about how loved and comfortable he was in their care. I am beyond grateful and already looking forward to my next trip knowing Pretzel will be in such amazing hands. Highly, highly recommend! 🐶✨

Programa
I currently work from home most days, and homeschool my two kids (ages 10 and 12). I have a very flexible schedule and am always up to go for a hike or play fetch between various family activities, or to snuggle up on the couch with a good book and a pup to cuddle. Your pet will be surrounded by a friendly family environment, and included in the daily routine I follow with my own dogs!

I have a fenced in yard and am located near many lovely nature trails as well as a fully walk-able neighborhood including access to the McHenry Riverwalk only a block away! Daily walks never get boring with so many options available. Whether I'm strolling down the block to watch the geese on the river, or hitting up a local trail, every day is fun and interesting. If our dogs get along these can be joint adventures, but if your dog is more of a solo adventurer I am happy to walk and play separately!

Each day I'll take your dog out into the world to explore, whether it's a trail hike, a neighborhood walk, a trip to check out the local pet store, or a bird-watching adventure on the Riverwalk. I personally love starting my days with a Sniffari (a walk where I let your dog set the pace and we stop to smell anything that catches their attention) followed by a little "brainwork." After this, most pups are happily worn out and ready for a little down time. The rest of the day includes playing fetch in my yard, snuggling on the couch, and enjoying various enrichment activities. I'll end the day with another walk before a final potty break and then bedtime! *If a more structured walking format is preferred, I'm comfortable supporting any leash manners you've been working on... just let me know!
