Active, Adventure-Loving Dog Person
I've lived with dogs almost my entire life, and adopted my first dog 15 years ago. I've since owned two Border Collies, who both participated in advanced agility and obedience work. I'm comfortable with high-drive, working breeds as well as your typical pet dogs. I have also trained and lived with Golden Retrievers, Labs, Pitties, Havanese and Shih Tzus, so I'm familiar with a wide range of breeds, and I've cared for dogs in all stages of life -- from puppies to seniors. Whether your pup is a cuddle-loving couch potato or a ride-or-die adventure pal, they'll fit in great here!

We used Danielle for an overnight boarding with Roxy and she was amazing! We had several updates throughout the day, which was nice. Roxy went on several walks and had lots of loving and attention. We use Danielle all the time for doggy day care, and just can't say enough nice things about her. She really loves dogs and does such an amazing job taking care of Roxy. We feel so relaxed knowing Roxy is in great hands! Going to use her again for doggy day care and for overnight!
Danielle is fantastic all around! My dog is very sensitive to new surroundings and people with some separation anxiety as well. Danielle made sure she was as comfortable as can be in her home and was very patient while Ella calmed down after I dropped her off. Danielle took great care of Ella during her stay and shared updates with me frequently. Highly recommend!

Danielle took such good care of my little bug! He was super nervous after I left, but Danielle took him for a nice walk to get the jitters out and let him cuddle her and her kids (and even sent me pictures of him laying across their arms while on their laptop) and he immediately warmed up. I was so grateful she came through for me for a last minute booking. Will absolutely be bringing Archie to her again!
Danielle and her family took wonderful care of Olly over a holiday weekend. He’s an older dog who is sensitive to his care and surroundings and we are grateful for the careful, thoughtful care Danielle provided!

Schedule
I currently work from home most days, and homeschool my two kids (ages 10 and 12). I have a very flexible schedule and am always up to go for a hike or play fetch between various family activities, or to snuggle up on the couch with a good book and a pup to cuddle. Your pet will be surrounded by a friendly family environment, and included in the daily routine I follow with my own dogs!

I have a fenced in yard and am located near many lovely nature trails as well as a fully walk-able neighborhood including access to the McHenry Riverwalk only a block away! Daily walks never get boring with so many options available. Whether I'm strolling down the block to watch the geese on the river, or hitting up a local trail, every day is fun and interesting. If our dogs get along these can be joint adventures, but if your dog is more of a solo adventurer I am happy to walk and play separately!

A typical day
Each day I'll take your dog out into the world to explore, whether it's a trail hike, a neighborhood walk, a trip to check out the local pet store, or a bird-watching adventure on the Riverwalk. I personally love starting my days with a Sniffari (a walk where I let your dog set the pace and we stop to smell anything that catches their attention) followed by a little "brainwork." After this, most pups are happily worn out and ready for a little down time. The rest of the day includes playing fetch in my yard, snuggling on the couch, and enjoying various enrichment activities. I'll end the day with another walk before a final potty break and then bedtime! *If a more structured walking format is preferred, I'm comfortable supporting any leash manners you've been working on... just let me know!
