Pet care experience

Your dog's favorite hiking buddy 🐾

I work from home and only take one dog at a time, so your pup will be well-cared for and will get plenty of love and attention! I've had dogs my whole life and am a big fan of snuggles and finding new four-legged pals to take on hikes. My own dog Mitzi loves to make new friends, and we have a fenced in backyard where they've got space to play. We get lots of exercise with daily walks around the neighborhood and frequent trips to Tanner Park or our local foothills.

We left Bernie for his first ever week-long stay and Danielle took such good care of him, lots of walks and snuggles and treats!

My dog loved being at Danielle’s so much she hesitated to leave when I picked her up!

Danielle was great! She went out of her way to send pictures, make sure that Winnie got her energy out, and was so kind and flexible when our flight got delayed!

Schedule

I work from home as a freelance graphic designer, so I've got lots of flexibility in my schedule to hang with your pup. That means frequent potty breaks, lots of time to play in our fenced-in back yard, and even some hikes into our local foothills and dog parks.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pup will be cared for in a smoke-free home with just one other dog – my pup Mitzi – who loves to make new friends. Even though Mitzi is incredibly friendly, she can get a bit overwhelmed with too many dogs so I only care for one additional dog at a time. And as a work-from-home human I only have the capacity to handle a few dogs at once! That means your pup will be attended to and cared for just like my own. That also means no conflicts or worrying about whether your dog will get along with strangers. Please note that I do have backyard chickens. They are kept in a secure chicken run, which dogs can see and walk right up to but of course can't get inside of. I don't let the chickens roam while I'm watching other dogs, but if you know that your dog is extremely interested in or provoked by chickens I might not be the best sitter for them. That's one reason I always do a meet and greet beforehand! Your dog will be well-cared for, is welcome on our furniture, and has access to a fenced-in backyard with plenty of room to run and play! Plus, so long as my work schedule allows (which it usually does), they'll have ample opportunity for walks and off-leash excursions – Tanner Park to start, and potentially the foothills or canyons if they are well-behaved and have good recall.

A typical day

A typical day with me will include a morning on-leash walk to get to know the sights and smells of the neighborhood. Then we're back home where your dog will have a friend to play with - my dog Mitzi - and a fenced-in, grassy backyard to run and play. We'll take a mid-afternoon break to get some off-leash exercise and even more playtime with other dogs, usually in Tanner Park but sometimes in our local foothills. Evenings are spent playing or snuggling on the couch!

I'd love to know any special information about your dog, their food preferences, and favorite toys. Do they get along well with other dogs? Do they have good recall if we go off-leash? Any special treats they love or tricks they know?
