Availability
I will be available to be at home with your pet for most of every day that I am sitting. My only obligation that takes me out of house are walking other dogs (1 to 3 hours per day) and then the occasional social or other engagement. I will never leave your pet alone for longer than 5 hours. As a remote worker, both for writing and offering healing/coaching services, I work from home and am therefore able to maintain a comforting presence for your pet and provide frequent outdoor time, play, and other care.

Aside from health and safety concerns, I'd like to know about your pet's personality, such as how he or she reacts to other dogs and people, how much energy he/she, tactics for calming or obedience, and anything else that may help for a smooth and pleasant experience. For instance, it can be important to know where your pet likes to sleep, how they like unwind, what to do if they are overly excited, and so on.
A typical day
On a typical day, I will be up early, around 5 A.M.. I will consult with you about your normal schedule for morning potty, breakfast, and walking, and will stick to that same schedule. Through the day I will take frequent breaks from my work/activities at home to be with your pet fully. We will go outside frequently (as permitted by you), walk two or three times a day, and spend good time on play and pats. Evening routine is consistent with your usual style.

Greetings! I'm Daniel, I've been pet-sitting and dog-walking off and on for 17 years. I love animals: With me, you get a new friend for your pets, and a dependable steward of your home. I believe in the Hawaiian meaning of "Kahu," that we should be guardians and beloved attendants of our animal friends. I devote highly sensitive heart-centered care for your pets for two main reasons: 1) I am a remote worker as a writer and healing coach, so I can be at home with our furry friends. I am not just feeding and walking your dog(s) and caring for your cats; I am providing emotional support and plenty of care (frequent outdoor breaks and walks, playtime, pats, massage, energy work, etc.). 2) I am a professional in the practice of meditation and the healing arts, a path that cultivates empathy, which helps me bond with animals and be more attuned to their needs. I have been on this path for 17 years. I am highly intuitive. I practice Eastern techniques of energy work (qi qong and martial arts) and I am a certified Reiki practitioner, so I love to connect with animals as part of that practice (they are great conductors of energy, which is only ever healing and calming for them to experience). I aspire to the highest level of performance and etiquette. I promise to treat your pets and space as sacred; to maintain a clear boundary between me and your possessions; and to leave no trace. I understand that by inviting me into your home to care for your pets and space that I am with you as a new friend. From my many years of cultivation on my spiritual, healing, and professional path, I assure you my integrity is outstanding, and I would be happy to send you testimonies and references to confirm. Daniel took care of my PTSD-riddled dog, cat, and home while I went on vacation. He was gentle, intentional and so communicative, sending updates and photos throughout the week. He overcame my dog Moose’s fear of men with his gentle and healing nature, while graciously handling a leaking water faucet and dishwasher. I’ll definitely be using Daniel in the future and highly recommend him.
