Get those dogs out and running!
I’ve had dogs almost every year of my life since I was ten, and have always felt that the best way to train and maintain a great dog is to walk them long and often. Important core principles: no dogs ever on the (human) furniture - including beds - and never ever fed while the humans are eating, particularly from the human’s plates. Follow those rules and your dog will be everything you ever dreamed - well behaved, well adjusted, friendly around everyone, happy to receive guests at home or anywhere else. People who know me think I have some magical sense for picking awesome dogs, but there’s no magic: follow those rules, and all follows from there.

Great communication and clear love for dogs. Daniel will always be our go-to person when we are out of town.

Denali had a great time! Was so grateful for his last minute flexibility

Fitz had a great time with Daniel’s family. They went on hikes, he got pampered by kids, and loved the company of Daniel’s dog. It was fun to get regular check in pictures from Daniel - I’d happily leave Fitz with Daniel again. Thanks for being a great host!
Thanks for taking such good care of Ruby for the week!

Penny was with Daniel and his dog Annie for a week. Daniel made Penny feel at home right away and by the end of the stay Penny was playing with both of them. Penny had a wonderful stay. Daniel is very knowledgeable and responsible and sent us photos and videos to keep us updated which was very helpful as we were traveling. Would strongly recommend Daniel (and Annie) and in fact we rebooked Penny with Daniel for our next travel.

Daniel was wonderful. He sent pictures of our pup every day, and gave her amazing exercise. He was incredibly responsive. My spouse, our pup, and I are all very grateful.

Schedule
I’m a creative, writing and producing videos from home - I also have a part time job which takes me away from the house for upward of 9 hours, so feel free to check in about needs for more frequent walks. I’m also a marathoner and ultrarunner - so I run upwards of 15 hours per week and would love some company for me and my GSP/Red Heeler, Annie, when we hit the trails in Blue Hills, where there is plenty of shade and water in the creeks.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have my friendly 5 year old GSP/Red Heeler, Annie who lives with me, and I have a spare bedroom, and dog gates throughout my place. I have a ten year-old daughter who mostly lives with her mother (has kind of grown out of hanging with Dad much anymore), and 2.5 year-old twins who are here more regularly, but who love dogs. (Life is complicated! Their mother is just two blocks down the street.

A typical day
Depending on the timing of our week, we will at a minimum go for a 30-minute walk around one of our nearby parks. If it’s the weekend, and time permits, we will even try to go for a hike!

- Due to being in an apartment building, the pup will need to be mostly quiet. Our street is also fairly noisy and I have noticed some are spooked by the sounds outside.
