Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I intentionally structure my schedule to make sure I have dedicated time and energy for each pet I’m caring for — whether that’s drop-ins, feedings, play sessions, or overnight stays. I don’t overbook because I want every animal to get focused attention, not rushed visits. I build pet care into my mornings and evenings especially, when most cats feel most active and engaged, and I make time throughout the day for check-ins, updates, and communication with owners. Caring for pets isn’t something I “squeeze in” — it’s something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize in my week.

My approach to pet care is centered around keeping things as close to a pet’s normal routine as possible, because that’s what helps them feel safe and relaxed. In a client’s home, I follow all feeding schedules, litter box routines, and household preferences carefully. I make sure cats have clean spaces, fresh water, enrichment through play, and plenty of affection (or space, if that’s what they prefer). I also keep the home tidy and send regular updates with photos so owners feel connected and reassured while they’re away. If caring for a pet in my home, I focus on creating a calm, low-stress environment where they have a comfortable place to rest and decompress. I’m intentional about introductions, stimulation levels, and maintaining consistency with their usual feeding and play routine. I love engaging their natural hunting instincts in a safe, fun way. For more relaxed or senior pets, fun can look different — gentle brushing sessions, cozy lap time, window watching, or calm companionship. I pay attention to what makes each pet light up and lean into that. I also make sure pets get positive interaction throughout the visit, not just quick check-ins. Daniel is really amazing. He has taken care of my sweet Loki (brown tabby), and he has been very patient and gentle. I have left him overnight with Loki, and he does an amazing job keeping him on his food schedule and cleaning up after him regularly, as asked. Additionally, he has also taken care of my Coco (chihuahua mixed terrier) at the same time as my cat. He is very sweet, being playful and taking her on walks, as well as listening to her signs that indicate she needs to pee outside. He is attentive to both animals. I love my babies and would not trust them with just anyone, but I would definitely trust them with Daniel every time I have a trip to take.
