Slow-blinking Cat Carer in SE4
Heya :D Lewisham-based proud cat dad of three years to loud-mouthed, lovable ginger fluff: Percy. Now, sharing my gentle and calming approach to cat care with local owners in the Lewisham area (and beyond, if needed). I'm used to spending time and caring for a multitude of rescue cats with differing needs and routines, from shy and nervous to short-tempered and feisty. I use a calming approach to cat sitting, giving them space if needed, or welcoming play and chin-strokes if invited - always slow-blinking with them to ensure I mean well and inviting their trust :). I have learnt most of my cat-caring through Percy, a lovable 5-year-old with a bit of food-anxiety baggage. As a cat rescued from the streets, he is a picky eater, chatty, confident, and often needy - but always loved and cared for. I adapt to what is needed with each cat or kitten I meet, and am a first port of call for several local cat parents - always happy and trusting that their cat(s)/kitten(s) are well looked after. I know it's not easy to leave your fluffy children when going away, and I promise to provide your cat or kitten with warm, calming, well-loved care.

Safety, trust & environment
I will pre-establish what the cat is used to in their home environment. If the cat needs to be kept in one room, I will ensure that it is adhered to; if a cat needs a quiet space, I will be cautious of how I close/open doors, cupboards, etc. My cat is quite jumpy, so I am always wary not to startle him. Happy to adapt to the cat's needs, e.g, to be kept indoors at night, certain medical needs, medication, cleaning procedures, food requirements, etc. I communicate with cats in a very soft manner, understanding that calm is the key to trust with our lovely companions. I do have access to a car via my partner, so if any emergencies happen and a vet trip is needed, we will be able to help. Communicating with you every step of the way.

Dan has looked after our two cats on several occasions. He is our go-to cat sitter because we have never had anyone that would look after them with such great care. He treats our cats with love and attention: unlike others, Dan actually plays and gives much needed cuddles when we are away, rather than simply feeding them and giving them water. He is very good at communicating with us and we fully recommend him as a cat sitter!
I highly recommend Dan as a cat sitter! He has looked after our 2 young outdoor cats on several occasions and they are always happy to see him! He is reliable, always ensuring our cats are fed on time and in line with their usual routine. He also spends extra time to let them outside, play with them and give them some love and purrs! He also always sends us regular updates and pictures which is always appreciated. Look no further than Dan for your cat sitting needs!
We've used Dan on a few occasions now to look after our two cats and couldn't be happier - he is friendly, professional, caring and makes us feel completely at ease leaving our girls when we go away. Dan is an incredibly caring person and has so much love to share. I feel incredibly lucky to have come across him. He looked after my two little troublemakers with such genuine care and kindness. I would always receive updates on how they were doing, and Dan made sure they got plenty of strokes, attention and company. On several occasions, our fluffy ones decided to bring some creatures home, and Dan always made sure we came back to a much less messy house! Most importantly, I always felt that I could completely trust Dan and that my cats were safe and genuinely cared for while we were away. I really can’t recommend him enough, and honestly can’t think of anyone who could do a better job than Dan :)

Schedule
I currently work full-time from home on a flexible structure, so there's plenty of time and opportunities to interact, play, cuddle, chat with, and chin-scratch your cats. I can step away from work easily to visit in the mornings, lunchtimes, and evenings. It's easy to work from anywhere, and I am never on work calls as it's rarely a necessity of the job; your cat(s) will not be disturbed by constant Zoom chit-chats, and I can provide them as much or as little attention as they may need. If all that's needed is a human presence in the house that occasionally gets them playing with a favourite toy, that's very easy for me to do.

- Any special needs, medical requirements, specific routines, likes or dislikes. If they are picky with food, or have difficulties with anything, let me know and I’ll accommodate and make notes so I know exactly how to approach care for the cat.
