A typical day
For dogs, I create personalized adventures based on their energy level and interests. I combine structured neighborhood walks with interactive play sessions, keeping their minds and bodies engaged. Active dogs might enjoy: - Enrichment games like "find the treat" or puzzle toys - Fetch and tug-of-war in safe, enclosed areas - Training practice with their favorite commands (and treats!) - "Sniffari" walks where they set the pace and explore scents During downtime, I offer: - Gentle massage and brushing sessions - Cuddle time while reading (my graduate studies books make great lap warmers!) - Basic training reinforcement with treats - Calm relaxation with soft music For cats, I bring interactive wand toys, puzzle feeders, and plenty of patience for play sessions that mimic hunting. For adventurous leashed cats, I provide supervised exploration at their pace. Most importantly, I adapt all activities to each pet's personality, energy level, and your guidelines to ensure they have fun while staying safe and comfortable.

My lifelong immersion in animal care, having grown up with multiple pets including cats and a rabbit, means I understand diverse animal personalities and communication styles. As Ghost's dad, I bring hands-on experience managing a husky's unique energy and needs. This gives me practical knowledge of proper exercise routines, mental stimulation, and the special attention active breeds require. I have experience working with dogs requiring special care, having previously cared long-term for a Chow Chow with specific needs. This taught me how to adapt routines and provide attentive care for dogs with unique requirements. He is absolutely awesome! This was my first time hiring a pet sitter while I was away, and he went above and beyond from the very beginning. He stopped by the day before my trip so we could go over everything in person, which immediately made me feel comfortable and reassured. During my trip, he kept me updated with photos and detailed messages, which I truly appreciated. He even took the initiative to replace the battery in my smoke detector when it started making a loud noise and caused my cats to hide under the bed ... That level of care really meant a lot to me. My cats were clearly very comfortable with him and seemed happy and relaxed the entire time. If I ever need a pet sitter again, I will definitely be asking him for help. Highly recommend!
Daniel is fantastic! Although he is new to Rover, he clearly has a lot of experience with pet-sitting. He took wonderful care of our senior dog and cats. Daniel expertly used all of the features of the Rover website, to include logging check-in and check-out times, GPS tracking for walks, and report cards with photos for every visit. I have never had a sitter this thorough before. Speaking of photos, he took some great quality shots of our pets. I hope Daniel is available to sit for our next vacation, because I plan to be a repeat customer.
