Pet care experience

Loving care from experienced hands

Hi, I'm Dani. Thank you for considering me to take care of your fur-friends while you're away; as a lover of all things furry and a pet owner myself, I understand that this can be a big decision! I hope that learning a little bit about me will help you feel confident and happy with your decision to entrust me with the privelege of caring for your precious pets. How I started: I am a veteran pet caretaker, having started my journey as a private dog-walker and as a pet care worker at a large commercial boarding kennel. I intended at first to work in the pet care field for only a short time after college, but soon found that I just didn't want to do anything else. I was soon doing in-home care for dogs and cats of all breeds, temperaments, and ages. My main source of work now is as a professional dog trainer, which is my heart's mission in this world. I take the so-called "easy" cases (puppies, obedience, etc) as well as the "hard" cases (aggression, behavior problems, serious anxiety), and I love doing both. All animals need an advocate. My training experience over the past 7 years or so has really honed my sense of what animals are "saying" and my ability to hear them when they tell us what they need; as such, I can care for animals with a variety of temperaments and behavioral needs. I love each pet in my care as though they're my own - because that's truly how I feel, but also because that's what I would want for my dog. It's important to me to respect each animal, each owner, and each family, and to give each pet care that feels as close to the loving care you yourself provide as is possible. When working with me you can be assured that your pet will be in caring, gentle hands.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

As a veteran pet caretaker, I understand that I have the capacity to improve your pet's wellbeing while you work or travel. Quality of care is very important to me, and I aim to meet each pet's physical, emotional, and mental needs as fully as possible. This will vary quite a bit by pet, which is one place that my extensive experience in a variety of care settings comes in handy. I also try to provide concise but insightful, detail-rich updates to owners. This is important to me partly because this is what I personally prefer when leaving my pet in someone's care, but also because good communication between us can help us identify if your pet is anxious, confused (for example if they're not used to your absence), or even sick.

Dani was very attentive and made sure she had every aspect covered. She gave us updates during the weekend and was very pleasant to work with.

Dani was such a gift to us as we knew our girls were being well taken care of and we could enjoy or time without worry. Olivia has separation anxiety and Evie very reserved. Seems they were so comfortable with her that they slept on the bed with her! Dani was willing to spend the night which was very, very important to me and honored the schedule that we set up together before we left. Her care was everything we needed to make our trip anxiety free. Just hope that she is available the next time we need to go out of town. P.S. The girls also gave her rave reviews.

Dani takes such great care of my dogs! She's patient with my anxious shelter dog and knows how to wear out my high energy cattle dog. I know I can trust her to give them their medications properly and take them on long walks when I'm out of town. Plus she's a high quality dog trainer with years of experience with all types of dogs. I wouldn't put the care of my dogs in anyone else's hands.

Wow, what can I say about Dani?! Her compassion for our furry friends is incredibly apparent. She was so thoughtful and kind with my big girl! She takes ant challenge head on, with thought, and as quick to encourage. She is responsible, conscientious, reasonable, and incredibly friendly. She has training and care knowledge that you'll be lucky to have . Absolutely, there will be nothing to worry about when choosing Dani to care for you best friends.

Dani is so great with pets! She actively works to make their experience and yours as comfortable as possible and treats every pet as if it’s her fur baby. She is also an amazing dog trainer so she’s great with problematic behavior from dogs as well. She has watched/worked with my German shepherd many times. She handles his special diet and meds, as well as some of his behavioral issues perfectly. I happily recommend her to anyone that needs help with pet sitting especially if your pet requires special care in some form or another, she is definitely up to the task. Anyone is lucky to have her in their corner as a pet sitter.

Please let me know if your pet has any allergies, or any special medical or behavioral needs. Even if I will not be medicating your pet, knowing about their medical needs helps me provide better care. For medications, I always appreciate detailed written instructions. You can help me be ready to care for your pet in an emergency by noting their vet's name down as well. I am also happily able to work with pets who are shy or anxious. Let me know ahead of time if your pet is prone to anxiety, is sensitive to general or specific types of handling (for example have pain in a certain part of the body or if they resent having their hind end or head touched), or if they have any other behavioral quirks that may affect their care needs. I do take aggressive pets, both cats and dogs. In this case a thorough conversation ahead of time is crucial. If your pet shows any aggression or if you think they might, please don't be shy to tell me about it - I assure you that I have seen it all!
