Availability
Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I am currently a student with a hybrid remote schedule, which allows me a reasonably flexible schedule and the ability to structure my days around the needs of the pets in my care. There ARE some in-class days where I am expected to be on campus 9am to 4pm, so please keep that in mind when you book. I currently specialize in house sitting, with a standard offering of overnight care from 7pm–7am plus check-ins throughout the day. During daytime hours I may step out for errands or appointments, but your pet will always have a warm, attentive presence each night — and your home will stay lived-in and loved while you're away. Think of it this way: for the duration of your booking, your home becomes my home. When I'm not needed elsewhere, I'll be right there — settled in, present, and happy to be. This is house sitting the way it was meant to feel: personal, consistent, and genuinely caring. If you're looking for someone present most or all of the day, ask me about my Constant Care option.

When house-sitting, my priority is maintaining your pet’s morning and evening routine and your home exactly as you would. I carefully follow your established feeding schedules, medication protocols, exercise patterns, and household rules to ensure consistency and reduce stress for your pet. I am attentive to behavioral changes and early signs of illness or distress, and I communicate promptly if anything seems out of the ordinary. Your pet’s emotional comfort and physical safety always come first. Your home will be treated with the same respect and discretion I expect in my own space. I’m happy to water plants, retrieve mail, manage trash days, and handle other agreed-upon household tasks while you’re away. Reliable, observant, and steady—you can travel knowing things at home are handled.

Meet and Greets are your time to feel me out, ask me questions, and show me around your home. I do have a comprehensive questionnaire I will provide you so that you can give me as much information about your pets and home as possible. It will cover routines, feeding schedules, medical needs, behavioral quirks, triggers, exercise expectations, and any household preferences that matter to you. Please also provide contact information for your veterinarian, preferred emergency clinic, groomer, and any other relevant service providers. Having those details readily available ensures prompt, informed action should anything unexpected arise. With a strong foundation in animal behavior, I’m comfortable reading body language and adapting quickly - but I value knowing your pet’s specific habits, comfort zones, and boundaries in advance. An outline of their daily rhythm helps me maintain consistency from day one. I welcome all breeds, temperaments, and species. Whether your pet is high-energy, shy, senior, reactive, or medically complex, I am prepared to provide care that goes well beyond simple feeding and supervision. My goal is steady, attentive, informed support tailored to your individual animal.

I’m a relaxed but confident caretaker who provides steady structure and calm leadership. With extensive dog experience and a strong background in feline care, I tailor each day to your pet’s established routine and personality. For dogs, that often includes structured walks, enrichment, play sessions, reinforcement of basic training cues (if desired), and plenty of engaged companionship. I’m attentive to energy levels, boundaries, and behavior, and I provide clear, reassuring direction so dogs feel secure and understood. For cats, the day centers around routine, observation, and consent-based interaction - whether that means interactive play, brushing, lap time, or simply respectful coexistence. I’m attentive to subtle behavioral shifts and adjust accordingly. While house-sitting, I maintain your feeding schedule, medication timing, and household expectations carefully. Whether your pet prefers adventure, play, cuddles, or quiet company, I meet them where they are and create a calm, safe, predictable environment while you’re away.

For more than 30 years, animals have been a central part of my life. From rescue work and fostering to professional experience in animal hospitals and shelters, caring for animals is not just something I do. It is who I am. I previously built an extensive review history before stepping away for a time and am now returning to Rover with the same dedication, reliability, and high standards of care. I have experience with puppies and kittens, seniors, special-needs pets, and animals with behavioral sensitivities. I am comfortable administering oral medications and injections, monitoring recovery, reinforcing training routines for dogs, and creating calm, enrichment-focused environments for cats. Dogs respond well to steady leadership and clear communication, while cats thrive with patience and respectful interaction. I take the time to understand each animal’s personality so they feel safe, secure, and understood while you are away. Beyond dogs and cats, I have cared for a wide range of companion animals and small livestock. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, aging, or medically complex, they will receive thoughtful, attentive care that goes well beyond feeding and supervision. You can expect regular photo and video updates and responsive communication, so you always know how your pet is doing.

Dana was excellent!! Very punctual, followed our directions to keep their routine as close to normal as possible. Sent pictures and written updates. Genuinely cared for their well being. Dana was absolutely amazing with our pets. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were forced into our first experience with Rover. I feel so lucky that we were able to connect with Dana and that she had availability to watch our pups. Her communication was amazing. She was very easy to work with. She seemed very comfortable with both personalities of our dogs, which is something considering how different they are. The communication and pictures during our trip were outstanding.
