Information I Like to Get Before a Sit: Before a stay, I like to learn your pet’s normal routine — feeding times, walks, sleep habits, and how they typically handle owners being away. I also ask how long they are comfortable being left alone, any anxiety behaviors, sensitivities, or medications so I can keep their experience predictable. For the home, I’ll confirm entry instructions, parking, trash day, mail/package handling, and any security systems so everything remains consistent while you’re gone.

A Typical Day: I keep your pet’s day structured around what they already know. Mornings begin with a potty break, breakfast, and fresh water, followed by a walk or yard time depending on their routine. During the day I’m usually present in the home so pets can rest comfortably and check in whenever they want attention. I leave only briefly for errands scheduled around their needs. Evenings follow their normal dinner routine and another walk or outside time. Nights are calm and predictable, with a final potty break before bed. The goal is that after the first day, your pet settles in and feels like they’re simply having a normal week at home rather than waiting for you to return.

Reliable, Routine-Focused In-Home Pet & House Sitter I provide calm, consistent care for pets who are happiest staying in their own home while their owners travel. My focus is keeping your pet’s world feeling familiar — feeding times, walks, sleep routines, and daily patterns stay as close to normal as possible so they experience stability instead of disruption. Many of the dogs and cats I care for are sensitive, older, anxious, or selective with new people. I take time to build trust at their pace and I watch closely for small changes in appetite, behavior, or energy so issues are noticed early rather than after they become problems. While you’re away, I maintain a quiet, steady presence in the home. I don’t schedule overlapping house sits, and I’m typically there most of the day, only leaving briefly for errands planned around feeding and bathroom routines. You’ll receive regular updates and photos, but my goal is that you won’t feel the need to worry between them — you should be able to enjoy your trip knowing life at home is continuing normally. In addition to pet care, I keep the home secure and running as expected: bringing in mail and packages, checking gates and doors, monitoring anything unusual, and leaving the home as clean as I found it. For added peace of mind, I carry independent pet sitter insurance and bonding, including liability and property coverage while caring for pets in your home. I’m especially well suited for longer trips and for owners who value consistency, communication, and a reliable presence in their home.

Dana was great! She took care of our 3 pets and kept us informed on how they were doing along with photos. She left our house in great shape too!
While living in Dallas, Dana would watch our 2 dogs anytime we went on vacation or out of town. She’s incredibly thoughtful and responsible, not only with our dogs but also while house sitting. I highly recommend Dana and WISH she was still in Dallas. I don’t blame her for moving, but my dogs will never forgive her.
