Pet care experience

All cats are beautiful!

I’m experienced and deeply passionate about cat care! I think cats are a gift to the world, and I genuinely love putting in the effort to understand them, listen to them and give them the absolute best care and love imaginable. Cats are often misunderstood, but they deserve to be seen and served. I have experience caring for cats of all ages, from kittens to hospice cats. I’ve had the honor of caring for several cats during their last stages of life, and while it’s very sad to see them pass, I love getting to offer animals comfort and love in those difficult stages of life. I’m experienced with just about every cat personality type. Talkative and cuddly? Amazing! Grumpy and antisocial? No problem. Chaotic and climbing up the curtains? I can handle that too ;) I also have experience caring for cats with medical conditions and special needs and am comforting administering oral medication and providing certain accommodations. I am a highly sensitive and intuitive care taker, and your animal’s comfort and safety are my top priority always! Most of all, I truly just love being around animals and providing them with a happy, healthy environment. I can’t wait to help care for your kitties!

Dana has done an amazing job caring for our property and pets while we've traveled. We currently have 3 border collies and 8 hens on a 5 acre parcel. The number of animals Dana has cared for in our home has varied as she has stayed at our property several times but there have always been active and older dogs to feed and entertain and chickens to care for. Dana is very professional, caring, responsible and reliable. I always think of her and ask about her schedule when we are planning a trip as she is our first choice for a house/pet sitter.

Dana has watched my senior and adult rescue dogs and crazy cat many, many times and has always shown love, care, and responsibility in caring for my fur babies. She has a calm demeanor, which helped my very skittish dog warm up to her quickly. I would highly recommend Dana as a pet sitter to anyone who is looking for a responsible, calm and loving person to care for their critters!

Safety, trust & environment

I take pet safety very seriously. I’m very vigilant about knowing where your animals are at all times, making sure they don’t get into hazards and, of course, making sure they have all the food, treats, toys and attention they need. For anyone interested in having me cat sit at my home, I have a calm, quiet apartment with no other housemates or animals. My landlord lives on the same property and has a high-energy corgi who does not enter my home so that I can maintain a cat-safe space :)

A typical day

I love letting cats take the lead to show me how (and how much) they want to play and interact. If your cat is social and playful, I’ll be sure to spend time entertaining them with their favorite toys, giving them plenty of careful pets and snuggles, and helping them feel included in whatever I’m doing. For cats who prefer doing their own thing, I’m great with boundaries and keeping stimulation to a minimum.

Please share as many details about your pet as possible! I want to know what they like and don’t like, and what they need in order to feel truly safe, comfortable and cared for. Are they shy and independent or social and cuddly? Are they open to being picked up or is that a big ol’ nope? Are there any sounds, petting spots or other triggers that I should be aware of and avoid? Give me all the details :)
