Would Love To Care For Your Dog!
From age 14 to 30, I had the wonderful dalmatian Luckiy. From age 32 to 50, I had the amazing beagle Hadley. Hadley passed away in Feb. 2026. We will get a dalmatian puppy in Aug. 2026. In the intervening months, we're looking to care for others' dogs. We miss having a dog in the house, but don't want to get another dog of our own whilst we're still mourning Hadley.

Dana took great care of Goldy! Easy drop off and pick up. Goldy likes to run out whenever the door is opened, so we were glad to see the front yard was fenced. Would use again.

This is obviously a house that loves dogs. They welcomed us in and showed us the backyard where Babe would be playing. The couch is covered in a blanket and there is a dog bed in the living room. Dana asked detailed questions about when Babe liked to eat, how long and how often she goes for walks, how many treats she can have each day, whether she goes to the door when she needs to potty, etc. It was very reassuring and we'll definitely leave Babe with Dana the next time we need a pet sitter.
Dana watched Sadie over the weekend. Nice fenced yard in back and in front. We felt like Sadie was in good hands. Quick communication and texted us daily updates via Rover.

Schedule
I'm an academic on Sabbatical from Jan to July 2026, so I'm working entirely from home. Your dog will be kept indoors with me, but let out into the backyard to play and potty. We will go for daily walks to the near-by park. Dogs happy riding in cars will come with me on errands when it's below 65 degrees. If your dog doesn't like cars or it's too hot, the dog will be left indoors when I run errands. We're available for drop-offs and pick-ups weekdays between 9am and 9pm, weekends between 11am and 9pm.

We consider dogs members of our family. We're only able to care for one dog at a time. Dogs are allowed on furniture and are able to sleep on the bed or in a doggy bed by the foot of the bed. My dalmatian lived to 16 and my beagle lived to 17 1/2. We are very in tune with dogs' well-being and take very good care of them. We are only able to look after female dogs who have been spayed. Generally we prefer dogs under 30 lbs, but we will look after dalmatians of any weight.
A typical day
I drop my daughter off at school at 8:30am and then work from home until it's time to pick her up. Active dogs will be taken on walks and play sessions in the backyard and living room. Senior dogs will have a soft bed (in the study) or couch (in the living room) to sit by my while I work on the computer. Dogs do need to be mobile enough to go up and down stairs, as the study and bedroom are upstairs.
