I work from home, less than f/t and my schedule is largely my own. Love to start my day walking the hills / trails out our door and am usually up around 7ish so your pup will get out early. There's also a dog park nearby if you're ok with your dog at a dog park. Pick up / drop off times should generally be 8a - 8p.

Safety, trust & environment
We live on nearly an acre and all roads around us are dead ends. The fenced portion of our yard covers about 10,000 square feet (roughly 1/4 acre) so lots of room to roam / chase a ball. We have crates that we're happy to employ if your dog is comfortable with that. Bringing your own bed is best for the dog, though we do have a couple. A crate is likely to come into play if we have more than one dog at a time but that will be rare. Dogs are allowed on furniture, but not on beds. There are two flights of stairs in our home with wood treads. The main floor is very roomy and has full access to outdoors; happy to block the stairs for their safety if needed. While we enjoy teaching dogs fun tricks, we're not animal trainers so we're not set up for dogs with behavior issues (such as marking, or reactive/aggressive/food-guarding, etc. Walks with a reactive dog are stressful for us and the dog.

Information Dan S. would like to know about your pet
You're gonna know what I need to know besides the obvious things like food, medicine and allergies. If they have fears, likes/dislikes....every dog is different. I've got a whole checklist when we meet n greet :)
A typical day
Walking the hills, a jog around Wonderland Lake or my third for a lunch date with a friend. Perhaps a dog park (if you're good with that) or a longer hike. The yard is great for fetch and I always get on the floor to play with the dogs after dinner.
Location

A quarter acre of fenced yard!!
Pet care experience
I've had dogs, or cared for them, for much of my life, including as the god father of two dogs. Our last dog died during pandemic and we've held off getting another for various reasons including a move and some extended travel. Meanwhile my wife is tired of losing track of me because I've crossed the street to pet a dog. Dog sitting gets me my dog fix :) You'll get multiple 'proof of life' updates. Your dog will get walks/exercise according to their needs, meds & brushing if needed, lots of scratches & cuddles and play time and they will love coming back here. We have no dogs currently and will only allow two dogs max in our space but most of the time your dog will be the only one here with me. My profile says one dog for now but if you have two paired dogs, please reach out.
Reviews

Dan was great! Clear, communicative leading up to the booking, and sent good updates during the visit. When it was time to pick up my pup, Sequoia didn't want to leave, so he clearly had a good time!

Dan was great with my senior Great Dane! He is clearly very experienced and sensitive to a dog's individual needs. His house is nicely set up for comfort and safety of visiting dogs.

Dan was responsible, easy to communicate with, and took the time to understand our dogs needs. He has a nice setup for dog care. Would recommend and hope to use again.

Dan was great! He provides a safe and welcoming environment for dogs. It's a dog's home away from home and treats them as his own. It was a pleasure to work with Dan and I highly recommend him.
