Patient, Gentle, and Kind
The first pay I earned as a kid was doing drop-in visits for a neighbor’s dogs, feeding and playing and doing check-ins with them throughout the day as a middle schooler. I grew up living with and taking care of my family dogs, and I am now the proud father of a darling golden retriever, Ginger, and a very special, cuddly diluted tortoise shell house cat, Freya. I have raised a puppy for Guide Dogs of America, taking care of and training basic commands from 8 weeks to a 18 months old, and have helped my wife foster many kittens for adoption with various outfits. I’ve watched neighbor’s dogs while they were out of town, done drop-in feedings for family member’s cats (5, each with their own type of food and feeding order!), and pet sat for friends during extended vacations. A pet is a part of our hearts, and I treat every pet I walk, watch, and play with like it is a part of mine. Gentle, nurturing, with patience and kindness.

Safety, trust & environment
I have experience walking both adult dogs and puppies, as well as different dog sizes. Growing up, my family dogs were mostly small sized breeds like Shih Tzus, but as an adult I currently have a golden retriever as part of the family, so I am comfortable working with both small and larger sized dogs. I also have a cat that is very strictly only an indoor kitty, so I am extremely cognizant of door and house security when dealing with inside-only animals.

Dalton has a caring soul and servant's heart. He has grown up around loving and cheerful shih tzus and cares for all pets regardless of shape and size. Over the years he has been a proud and loving parent of a golden retriever named Ginger and a cat named Freya. His love for his two pets were evident during his wedding ceremony in which two of the cocktails were named after his two pets. Overall Dalton is a kind and caring pet-lover. He will ensure that every pet is heard, respected, and cared for. His understanding and gentle nature are perfect for all pets.
Dalton was absolutely amazing with our dog, Maple! We felt completely comfortable leaving her in his care while we were in Hawaii, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. He was attentive, caring, and treated Maple like she was his own. He kept us updated while we were away, which we really appreciated, and it was clear that Maple was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after her. We highly recommend Dalton and would absolutely trust him with Maple again!
Dalton is a fantastic pet sitter! For our family, he has bottle-fed neonate kittens, followed strict guidelines for feeding 5 cats AT ONCE all with different diets and quantities they're allowed to eat, provided puppy training (good manners and basic commands along with take a bow) for our golden retriever, and watched a few of my friends pets with positive feedback given to me for suggesting him! I routinely ask Dalton to walk Ginger and he always makes sure she is nice and tired by the time she comes home. He is also adept at giving her medicine (oral pills, ear drops, eye drops, and topical ointment) on the rare occasions that she needs it. We've also had a situation where he was staying in our home watching Freya and he gave her a gentle bath while she was having some tummy issues. She seemed as fine with it as a cat can be with a bath, haha! I really can't recommend Dalton enough and I would trust him with either of my sweet girls any time!
As a devoted pet parent myself, my dog is truly my whole world. That being said, I would not hesitate to entrust Dalton with caring for my baby. I've seen how much love and care he gives to his own pets (cat and dog) and all animals; I have the utmost trust and confidence in Dalton's caregiving capabilities. He is responsible, empathetic, and a truly kind human being.

Schedule
I am currently a freelance creative worker from home, so my schedule is very flexible and open for daytime drop-ins, dog walking, pet feeding, and play time! I am available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits with your animals and can accommodate different windows for busy and traveling pet parents alike.
