I work primarily from home and online, so pet sitting fits naturally into my routine. During house sits, I can spend substantial time at home with your pets rather than leaving them alone for a full workday. I’m able to maintain their usual feeding, walking, play, and bedtime routines while providing plenty of calm companionship throughout the day. Because some of my work involves filming or occasional local outings, I’ll always discuss your pet’s needs and how long they can comfortably be left alone before confirming a booking. Longer stays are especially welcome.

I care for pets in their own home, where they can remain in the environment and routine they already know. Before a stay, I carefully review feeding instructions, walking routes, house rules, emergency contacts, veterinary information, medications or health concerns, and anything that may make your pet anxious or uncomfortable. When I arrive, I immediately check on the animals, their food and water, litter boxes or yard needs, and spend time helping them feel comfortable before I settle in myself. I keep doors, gates, leashes, and household access secure, follow your instructions closely, and never introduce new foods, activities, animals, or visitors without permission. I send regular photos, videos, and updates, and I will contact you promptly if I notice any change in behavior, appetite, energy, digestion, or the condition of your home. I’m calm in unexpected situations, proactive about finding solutions, and respectful of your privacy and belongings. I also leave homes clean, orderly, and ready for a comfortable return.

I'd love to know what "normal" looks like for your pet. How often do they eat? How many walks do they usually get? When do they typically pee and poop? What does a great day look like for them? The better I understand their routine, the more closely I can maintain it while you're away. Please also let me know about any medications, allergies, health concerns, fears, triggers, reactivity around other dogs or people, food restrictions, escape tendencies, or anything else you'd like me to know. Every pet is different, and I'd like to help them feel as safe, comfortable, and at home as possible while you're away.
A typical day
I’ll follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, rest, and bedtime. Depending on their personality and energy level, our day might include neighborhood walks, sniffing and exploring, fetch or tug, enrichment games, cuddles, and quiet companionship while I work from home. I’m happy to provide plenty of activity, but I also respect pets who prefer a calm day and space to relax.

One of the nicest compliments I’ve received from a client was that, by the second or third day of their trip, they realized they simply weren’t worrying about their pets anymore. That’s exactly the kind of experience I hope to give every pet parent. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, extensive home gardens, and farm animals, including sheep and cattle. My house sits have ranged from weekend stays to two months of live-in care, and I’ve looked after energetic young dogs, independent cats, rabbits, and homes with large gardens requiring daily watering and occasional coordination with irrigation professionals. When I arrive, my first priority is always your pets. Before I bring in my suitcase, grab a glass of water, or make myself comfortable, I check on them, their food and water, litter or yard needs, and spend time saying hello so they can become comfortable with me. As a longtime meditator, I bring a naturally calm, patient presence and let each animal approach and settle at their own pace. One client told me it was remarkable to watch her energetic young dog become calmer around me. Clients often describe me as thoughtful, organized, clean, and proactive. I read care instructions carefully, ask questions before you leave so I understand your routines, communicate regularly with updates, photos, and videos, and let you know promptly if anything unexpected arises. I treat every home with the same care and respect I would want someone to show mine. I work primarily from home and online, so I can spend plenty of time keeping your pets company, maintaining their normal routines. I also genuinely love caring for gardens and houseplants. I have completed several multi-week garden sits, including caring for an extensive garden that required up to an hour of daily watering and communicating with an irrigation specialist when problems arose. I know how much trust it takes to hand someone your keys and the care of the companions you most love. My goal is simple: for you to enjoy your trip knowing that your furry loved ones, home, and plants are being cared for thoughtfully.

Daksha took care of our two dogs for two weeks, and I honestly wouldn't hesitate to book her again. Before we even left, she took the time to read through all my notes, asked really thoughtful questions, and walked through the house so she knew where everything was. Her attention to detail gave me confidence straight away. She kept us updated throughout our trip, and by the second or third day I realized...I wasn't worrying about the dogs anymore, which was a huge relief. Our two-year-old pup has a lot of energy 😄, and Daksha was so calm and patient with her. It was amazing to see our dog's energy settle right along with hers. We also had one unexpected house issue pop up (just one of those random things), and Daksha let us know right away and came with thoughtful solutions. I really appreciated how proactive and communicative she was. When we got home, the house was imaculate, and our dogs were thrilled to see us - yet were still happily loving on Daksha too. To me, that said everything. If you're looking for someone who will genuinely care for your pets and treat your home with respect, I can't recommend Daksha enough.
Daksha did a terrific job looking after our home and pets. We have two cats and were away for a few weeks. I missed my pets like most owners but Daksha helped by sending videos of playing with the cats playing. She is respectful, very professional and clean. The house is likely cleaner after her visit than before! You would be fortunate to have someone as kind and dependable as Daksha looking after your pets!
Daksha was a truly wonderful cat caregiver for my cat Pickle for a full week. Daksha kept me posted on how Pickle was doing. She asked thoughtful and caring questions. Daksha left my space so orderly and cozy. I really appreciated coming home to a clean house and a calm cat!
