Information Dakota K. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know if your dog is nervous or protective when new people enter the home. I have experience with anxious and mouthy pups and know that they may need a little coaxing or a couple treats to help reassure them that I'm a friend. If there is a good way to earn your dog’s trust, I'd love to know! Another thing I like to know if your pet has any injuries or allergies that I should be aware of. I've handled injured dogs that needed a little help getting in and out of their homes as well as pups with plant allergies that require booties when walking through grass. One more thing I'd like to know is if your pup is going through training! If you'd like me to help with training by giving me a list of the commands he/she is learning, I can help by using the commands during walks.
A typical day
I usually like to take walking routes where there are lots of interesting things for the dog(s) to check out, such as trees, plants, and grassy areas. Some pups get anxious around busy streets, so I tend to avoid areas like that and stick to the neighborhood instead. If your dog has a preferred potty spot or area where he/she likes to go, please let me know and I'll make sure we stop there along the way!

Pet care experience
Hey there! I'm Dakota and I've had years of experience handling both dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes. Early on, I learned that all animals have their own personalities and preferences. Even two pups of the same age and breed can have big personality differences! I like to learn all I can about my canine (or feline) clients to provide them the best care. Experience: I have 10+ years of personal experience from having my own dogs and cats at home, pet sitting, and dog walking for friends and family. I also have 6 years of professional experience from volunteering at PAWS Animal Shelter, working for Field Days Dog Walking in the West Loop area, and working for both cat shelters, Harmony House for Cats and Tree House Humane Society. I've handled all kinds of dogs, from high energy pullers, so low energy strollers who need a little convincing to go out! I look forward to meeting your furry friend(s) in the future!
Reviews
I have never met anyone who had the affinity for loving and caring for animals as well as Dakota. Not only is he an exceptionally caring individual, but he is also very responsible. He is always so patient and kind with any and all animals I’ve see him interact with, and his genuine regard for their wellbeing comes as naturally as he breathes.
When it comes to pets and pet care, Dakota is the most knowledgeable person I know. He absolutely adores animals and has for as long as I've known him, so he takes pet care very seriously. From what I've heard from his time with Field Days, all the owners love him and think he's great with their pets, and I can attest to that with how he treats our own animals. Dakota is a born animal lover and will ensure your pets get the best possible care. :)
