Although I don't require sitters to check in with me daily (I do now) I usually hear from them anyway and found it unusual that I hadn't heard from Dakota in over 24 hours. I decided to check my security system and found that she and her husband showed up at my house 3 hours later than was discussed and watched as she left in her own car minutes after arriving leaving her husband to care for my dog. She didn't return until very late that evening. Both she and her husband left the following morning in separate cars. Only her husband returned, late in the afternoon with a friend, staying a total of 4 minutes to let my dog out and feed him; not following my specific instructions regarding my dog's feeding routine which would have/should have taken longer than 4 minutes. When I reached out to her about it she explained there had been a family emergency and she hadn't been able to take care of my dog as discussed. When I asked her why I wasn't notified so that I could get someone else she apologized and told me she'd be able to come over later to let my dog out. When she finally showed up at my home my dog had been left alone inside my house for close to 11 hours with only a 4 minute break in the late afternoon. At that point it was late in the evening, I was 4 hours away from home and frantic about a senior dog being left alone for so long with no way of letting himself outside if/when he needed to go out. When I brought up what I discovered about his care she abruptly ended the assignment leaving me in a panic, calling neighbors and family members at almost 10 pm to see who could step in at the last minute until I got home the next afternoon. If I didn't have a security system I would never have known that my dog had been neglected and would probably be leaving a similar review as the others I read when hiring her. The irony of it all was I didn't really hire her, I unknowingly hired her husband and there's no mention of it being a "team" anywhere on her profile. My dog was hardly acknowledged the whole time he was in their care, no walks, no playtime. Very disheartening. I have never worried so much about the care of my dog while I've been out of town as I was this particular weekend. I would definitely require pictures of her and your pet together for each of her visits to your home or check your security system often if you choose to use her as your sitter.

Dakota did such a great job taking care of my pup - especially on short notice. She was very communicative and sent tons of photos and recaps after each walk. I’ll definitely be looking to book her again.

We went out to Hawaii for a 2 week vacation and had asked Dakota if she could house sit and animal sit… She did a great job, keeping both the Animals and house safe. Kept us updated with pictures and was easy to be in contact with l.

Dakota is so good with our kitties. We always come back to them acting normal, which says a lot to who Kota is!
