I take each dog for a walk once in the morning and once in the evening, with additional walks or outdoor time as needed based on the individual dog's energy level and needs. After our walks, we spend several hours playing, relaxing, and spending time together. Throughout the day, I also provide drop-in visits and walks for my other clients. I try to maintain a consistent routine while remaining flexible enough to accommodate each dog's personality, comfort level, and needs.

Safety, trust & environment
I care for a maximum of two dogs at a time so that I can give each animal the individual attention and supervision they deserve. Dogs are allowed to freely roam throughout the house as long as they are comfortable doing so and demonstrate appropriate behavior. I maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment and make sure potentially hazardous items are kept out of their reach. I also pay close attention to each dog's behavior and comfort level, allowing them time to adjust to a new environment rather than expecting them to immediately feel at home.

Information Dakota F. would like to know about your pet
Every dog has different needs, routines, and personality traits, so I always require a meet-and-greet before providing care. This gives us an opportunity to discuss your dog's daily routine, feeding schedule, exercise requirements, medications, behavioral tendencies, and interactions with people or other animals. The meet-and-greet also allows me to observe how your dog responds to a new environment and gives you an opportunity to make sure you feel comfortable with my home and approach to care. My goal is to have as much information as possible beforehand so I can provide consistent, safe, and personalized care throughout their stay.
A typical day
When a dog stays with me overnight, I try to maintain a structured and comfortable routine so they have plenty of activity, attention, and companionship throughout their stay. I typically take them on walks in the morning and evening, either around my neighborhood or at a local park. During the afternoon, we spend time playing in the backyard and working on basic commands through positive reinforcement. I like to incorporate activities that encourage patience, focus, and mental stimulation rather than relying solely on physical exercise. I treat every dog with the same level of care and respect, regardless of their age, training level, or individual personality. During the meet-and-greet, I take time to learn about their behavior, routines, and interactions with other animals so I can provide the safest and most comfortable experience possible. I also pay attention to weather conditions and adjust the day's activities accordingly. During extreme heat, cold, or otherwise unsuitable weather, I prioritize the dog's safety and provide indoor play and companionship instead. I understand that being away from home can be stressful for some dogs, so I make an effort to provide a calm and familiar-feeling environment while maintaining their normal routines as much as possible. If you have any questions or concerns before or during your dog's stay, please feel free to contact me. I try to respond as quickly as possible.

Pet care experience
Hello everybody, my name is Dakota! I have been working with Rover as a full-time pet sitter from 2020–2024 and part-time from 2024 to the present. I have very much enjoyed the experience and have cared for more than 50 different dog breeds, as well as a couple of cat breeds. The services I offer include boarding, check-ins, and dog walking. I always try to accommodate everyone's requests, so I appreciate as much advance notice as possible when scheduling services. I grew up in a loving family environment and continue to live in the same moderately sized home. My family has a large backyard, which provides plenty of space for interactive activities and exercise. Throughout my experience with Rover, I have learned that every animal has its own personality, temperament, and behavioral needs. I try to work with each animal individually and provide the appropriate balance of exercise, structure, patience, and attention. Some dogs may become anxious, energetic, or protective when separated from their owners, and I make an effort to provide them with a calm and comfortable environment where they can settle in and make good choices. Outside of caring for animals, I enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews and helping them learn valuable life lessons. Looking toward the future, I hope to build long-term relationships with clients and eventually have my family become more involved in caring for animals as they get older. My overall goal is to create a positive environment where both animals and the people around them can enjoy their time together.
Reviews

Dakota did a great job for Reggie and me! Reggie liked him right away and he took him for a good walk that tired him out. Thanks, Dakota!

Dakota was great with Fozzie. He was onetime, very friendly and Fozzie had two great walks!

This was my first experience using Rover and Dakota was the best part of it! He was very professional and friendly, punctual and caring with my grand puppy. Our puppy fell in love with him right away.

We are so grateful to Dakota for helping us last minute. He took great care of our two pups. They’re a tad bit crazy and he had plenty of patience for them!
