Hi everyone! My name is Dakota James (he/him) and I provide in-home and drop in services that are guaranteed to give you a peace of mind while you’re away from your furry companions. I provide exceptional care and work diligently to cater to your pets individual needs, whether they be physical, emotional, and dietary. I have experience with young puppies, adult dogs, elderly pups, and special needs dogs through my experience as a rescue volunteer and former kennel worker. I believe in positive reinforcement to promote good behavior, and am willing to work with you and your dog to change unwanted or negative behaviors while they are in my care. I am sensitive to medical and dietary needs that are brought to my attention, and will provide the best home care to ensure that your pets have a comfortable and pleasant experience. I also have experience with high-energy dogs that require additional exercise and outdoor time, so you don’t have to worry about a sitter that can’t keep up with your pup. * house sitting stays guarantees that I will be staying overnight with your pets, and dropping in on them during the day. Continuous care is an entirely different rate, and guarantees that I will be gone no longer than 2 hours at a time during the day, which is a different rate than the overnight rate. Message me for details and questions :) * I also provide care for tanked/caged animals such as reptiles, rodents, and have experience with livestock/farm animals! Don’t hesitate to shoot me a message to discuss what your needs are regarding pet care! Pet care is part of my daily routine. I myself have a host of reptiles as well as 7 cats, so I understand the importance of being present and diligent. That being said, pet-care has become a full time commitment, and that extends to your animals as well. Your animals’ daily schedule will be kept as similar as possible as to not disrupt their well-being. It’s important to me that your pets are comfortable and well cared for while you’re away.

In your home, your pets will continue to enjoy the schedule that has been pre-established by you, their loving owner. Deviating from schedule can be detrimental for some dogs, so I work diligently to ensure that their time away from you is kept as close to “routine” as possible.

Dakota is the best animal sitter ever. He is always there why he says and leaves our home nice and clean just like we left it. He texts regularly if something comes up and our dogs and maybe our allusive cat like him!
I always feel comfortable going out of town and having Dakota drop in the check on the boys. He alwasy makes sure they have food, water, treats and cleans out the litter boxes. He always leaves nice notes letting me know how the boys are doing and will include lots of pictures. I really appreciate how much he does for my boys. I highly recommend using Dakota for any kind of cat sitting.

Schedule
Pet care is my full-time commitment (and my favorite job). In order to best serve the pets in my care, I organize my daily life around the needs of the pets that are in my care.
