Safety, trust & environment
Your pets safety is my first priority. Pet sitting will always occur at the owners home, this is to ensure the comfort of the dog by them being in a familiar place. I always ask that food is provided by the owners unless discussed otherwise (however if I provide my own food a reimbursement is expected). On walks I prefer to take the dog to a quiet area or dog paddock to allow them off leash, with reactive dogs off leash only allowed after discussing it with the owner and both believe that is the next step within the dogs training and that a secure area can be used.
Information Dakota B. would like to know about your pet
Before I care for any pet, it is required to provide me with their dietary requirements including their favourite food and treats to anything that will upset their stomachs. The pets medical will also need to be provided along with details over medications including the name, expiry date, how it is administered, frequency of administration and any side effects. If walking your dog, their triggers should also be listed. If there is any part of your dogs body that's doesn't like to be touched it is important to inform me to ensure the safety of myself. Any training needed should also be discussed, this includes lead pulling and reactivity.
A typical day
An fun day is animal dependent, your dog loves to play fetch, we'll play fetch. Your dog like to run, they'll be taken somewhere quite (if recall is excellent) or a secure paddock where they can be let off leash to run. All training is done through possive reinforcement with the use of treats. Just like with dogs, a fun day with cats is dependent to them based upon their wants, likes and dislikes.

Pet care experience
Growing up my mother has always had dog, and being an animal orientated family I was always involved within the care of the dogs. I have furthered this passion and completed my level 3 animal management diploma and completed my animal first aid so your pets are in good hands. Over the past 4 months I have been training reactive dogs all of which are making great strides in ignoring their triggers.
Cat care experience

Dakota also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.
