Belly rubs are a must
I’ve grown up with large and small dogs my whole life. In my 20s, my former partner and I raised a German Shepherd. I learned that you need to train yourself before you can train your dog. I believe in positive reinforcement training and that consistency is what works best. I currently have a small somewhat senior dog that is a mixed breed who is special needs. He is deaf and has IVDD which has taught me a lot. I have ramps and gates so he and other dogs can get on and off furniture with ease. I also am able to gently administer oral medication for even the most stubborn pups as sometimes mine can be quite stubborn!

Daina was a great dog sitter. She took my puppy on long walks, played with her, and gave me updates throughout the stay as well which I appreciated. Would definitely recommend!
I have known Daina for over a decade and have trusted her with my low riders with special needs (my first shih tzu had ivdd and my most recent little guy had seizures due to a brain tumor). The level of care, attentiveness, and concern Daina has shown them matched that of her own fur kids. Daina is thoughtful, thorough, and considerate and keeps in constant communication to keep one’s mind at ease. Her photography skills are nothing to scoff at so expect some cute “proof of life” updates. I promise you will not regret entrusting your companions with her!
Hi there! It is my pleasure to recommend Daina as a caretaker. She is a proud and loving dog and cat mom to one little pup (Gyro) and two cats (Jameson & Guinness). Over the course of her life she has owned, fostered, rescued, trained and looked after a wide variety of animals ranging in ages, sizes and temperaments. She is patient, kind and loving as well as keeping a firm hand to insure the safety and overall wellness of the animals. She is attentive and treats all pets as though they were her own and as she would want hers treated. Whether in our own home or the homes of others, she goes to great lengths to meet the needs of every pet on an individual basis while honoring and following the wishes of each owner such that their pet gets the happiest and most comfortable experience. You can be confident your fur baby is in the greatest hands while Daina's got her eye on them!

Schedule
I work remotely from home with the exception of one day a month. This really allows me to give the time and attention needed to your pets care. It also gives me the flexibility to work from anywhere that has an internet connection.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced in yard but also love going on walks as I know dogs love and need stimulation. Our in home pets are very calm and accepting of other pets that I have cared for which is one of the reasons why I felt that opening up our home to other pets would work. If your pet is not the best with cats we are able to keep them separated.
Pets
A typical day
As soon as I wake up gyro and I go outside to our back yard so he can relieve himself. Breakfast is promptly at 9 am. My husband is also home so once he starts his day there are more potty breaks and belly rubs. I have an hour lunch break and we like to take him for a walk to the beach if it isn’t too cold or rainy. We are both home during the day so there isn’t lack of attention or affection given!
