Second Chances: How a Rescue Dog Opened My Eyes I never set out to build a pet care business. It began when neighbors asked me to care for their pets during the off season from my work as a private swim instructor. I quickly discovered how much I loved it. Not simply because I enjoyed animals, but because I understood how much trust it takes to leave someone you love in another person’s care. After moving to the Bay Area, I began building a life that feels more intentional. Smaller. Better. More personal. Then came Marley. Marley was a rescue dog whose owner wanted him to experience some of the things he had never known. We asked if we could take him along on a road trip through Yosemite, Big Sur and Carmel by the Sea. When Marley discovered the beach for the first time, you could see it in his face. Curiosity. Excitement. Pure joy. That experience stayed with me. It reminded me that caring for an animal is about more than keeping them fed and safe. It is about noticing who they are, understanding what makes them comfortable and, when appropriate, giving them experiences that bring them joy. I have also always loved photography, and over the years I have found myself photographing the animals in my care. I especially love capturing the unplanned moments that reveal their personalities. During select holiday stays, I enjoy sharing a few of those moments with their families as a personal keepsake. Today, I care for a small number of private clients throughout select communities in Sonoma County and Marin, primarily during holidays and occasional extended stays. My primary professional work remains private in home swim instruction for families. I am selective about the families I work with because quality matters to me. I take the time to understand your home, your pet and your preferences. I am reliable, discreet and genuinely invested in their care. For me, it has always been about trust. When you leave someone you love in my care, I want you to feel completely at ease.

Ratings and reviews
Cynthia is a fantastic puppy sitter! Very patient when my schedule changed unexpectedly, and really knowledgeable with animal care and comfort. Her home is extremely inviting and has a calm atmosphere that would be comforting to any dog personality. My puppy rowan always gets excited when we arrive.

Cynthia took great care of our dog, Charlie! Even though we only booked a short day care visit, Cynthia provided plenty of photos and updates. Her dog, Shelby, is full of energy and loves to play. Charlie was nice and tired when we picked him up.

Caesar seemed to have lots of energy when came back home. Didn’t seem he got enough time to play and also didn’t eat his food. First time that ever happened. Not sure if he was given enough attention or supervision.
Cynthia was great! We will definitely use her again!
Strongly recommend Cynthia. I trust her with my dog Marley and I love getting the pictures she sends me everyday!

Cindy was a fantastic dog sitter! Both Harley and Ruca had the time of their walking the trails surrounding their house. Cindy was very quick to respond any time I had questions about the girls, and she always sent great pictures so that we could see how much fun the dogs were having. We will definitely be using Cindy's services in the future and I highly recommend her.
