Taking care of dogs is not what Crystal should be doing. I rarely write reviews but I feel strongly enough about this that I had to write this. She house sat for us, I had her come meet the dogs before hand to make sure it was a good fit - I explained my expectations during our initial meeting as well as some of our dogs’ quirks, I went as far as to write 2 pages with information about them so that she would have heard it and had it in writing for reference. She agreed and even said she was excited. The last night she was supposed to watch them (I was very explicit that since they’re pups I was expecting someone to stay over with them) she left them alone. I noticed after 5 hours (about 1 am) that she hadn’t returned and asked if she was at the house. At first she tried to lie and say she was and when I explained I could see in the doorbell cam that her car wasn’t there, she said she had an emergency and had to step out but and was going to come back but had fallen asleep. I will leave it up to interpretation whether this was a lie but for context, she had washed the comforter in the room she had slept and had mopped (none of this I had asked her to do), I was just looking for someone to watch my pups with proper care. She had also provided one of my dogs with meds that she gets at night 3 hours before the normal time, or lied about giving these to her - so either had no intention of coming back or lied about giving her the meds that early. It was also clear in the Ring footage that she was not very nice to my pups. I know that they’re pups and still learning but in general are super sweet and loving - this is why I made sure to meet beforehand and was really transparent in my booking request, in the dogs’ bio descriptions, as well as when we met. When I asked her if her frustration was why she was trying to leave them alone overnight she denied it but told me to find a neighbor to check on them as she wasn’t coming back, not that I really wanted her to come back after noting how she treated the pups. Needless to say, since it was the middle of the night I had to wait until morning for someone to check on them, and one of the dogs whined on/off at the door almost all night. Very unprofessional and unethical. Please find someone else to care for your dogs - she seemed nice enough during the initial meeting but that was not the same personality that we saw later.
