We(Derek & Cristina) have been surrounded by dogs (and other animals) our whole lives. Derek’s mom was a veterinarian and he worked as a kennel tech/vet assistant in college, and managed the doggy daycare operation at a vet clinic for almost two years. We have gotten to know literally hundreds of dogs! In addition to our current pets, Winston, Gimli(dogs) and Ganymede(cat), we have also had rats, mice, hamsters, rabbits, and guinea pigs and can provide care for all types of small furry pets. We have experience administering a variety of medications, including insulin, and working with dogs with special needs (post-surgery, in wheelchairs, etc.). We have a special knack for shy animals, even dogs who are normally afraid of taller men(Derek) and cats who are afraid of everyone. If your dog is shy with strangers, we can patiently work to gain their trust to take them on walks, or help to socialize your skittish cat. Cristina was, up until recently, volunteering at a shelter and has passed dog and cat handling courses. She has also cared for several animals at a retirement community, which involved potty breaks, administering meds, meals and cat care. She also does regular house/pet sitting. Between us, we have an abundance of professional animal care experience and we look forward to making new furry friends!
