I will be with your pet 20 hours per day. While I'm home with them, we will walk, play, rest, cuddle, eat and sleep. While I'm away, I will: -------------- • leave the TV on with something soothing (do they have favorite shows? Usually I put on ambience for dogs videos on Youtube.) • provide fresh water • lock the house • put my things away (to avoid counter surfing and chewing) • follow your specific house rules to ensure your pet is safe and comfortable!

I'll schedule a "meet and greet" for us and then take it from there. This will help us determine if we're a good fit. I'll ask what your pet's routine is take notes and type them into a Google Doc for future reference. I'll use this to structure my time with your pet so they feel at ease. I have a way with animals and a voice that soothes them. We will become fast friends. I've taken dog training with my two late pugs. As a result, I understand how to be a calm and assertive leader, and ease anxiety by providing clear boundaries and expectations. I ensure the property, all doors and windows, harnesses, and collars are secure. I love to play with pets to get our bodies moving and have fun together. Balancing work and play is a must and a joy! It's also helpful to tucker them out for good naps.

A typical day
I love to talk to animals and involve them with unpacking my things. I tell them what I have and let them sniff. They like to feel included! When I leave I tell them where I'm going and when I will come back and what we'll do when I come back. When I come home, I tell them where I've been and let them sniff my clothes and shoes. They love it! Once I get to know them more, we can venture off in my car to new areas for sights and scents! At your home, I will play with your pets so they can enjoy off-leash time and run around and have fun - making sure all doors and exit areas are secure and closed. We'll play "go find it" with their kibble - where I put kibble around like hide n' seek. Or I'll create some DIY interactive toy for them using their toys or a paper plate scrunched up or something to have to figure out to get treats out of. With small dogs, I love to hold them and show them places they usually can't see because of their height like out of windows, or on top of cabinets etc. We also look in the mirror and I tell them who I am and tell them who they are. I love playing with pets and seeing them enjoy themselves! It lights me up!!

I’m always thrilled to spend time with animal friends and help their families feel secure that they are safe while away. It brings me joy to spend time with your pets, walk, play and care for them. It makes me smile to take and share photos and updates, so you feel at ease and in good hands. I have experience with senior dogs and giving oral medication to dogs and cats. • UPDATE: I'm no longer accepting new clients with pets that have medical needs. I have experience caring for many animals at once, and caring for gardens and plants as long as I have detailed instructions for watering needs. Before I started with Rover, I helped friends and family over the years with pet-sitting because I love animals and spending time with them. I also had two rescue pugs and a kitty between 2006-2018. They've since passed away and now I have pets all over Santa Barbara through my pet-sitting services.
