I am currently out of work so my schedule is completely open and I could think of a lot worse things than to be enjoying giving belly rubs and getting tail wags from a new furry friend.

Safety, trust & environment

I would always like to have a meet and greet in a neutral place or somewhere the dog would be comfy and not feel like I am invading it's space and have a good positive greeting to get them comfortable with me. I am willing to bring the dogs on new adventures or around their usual place depending on what would suit the dog better. I will cater to each dog as needs be.

Information Craig O. would like to know about your pet

Most important things for me to know about your pet ahead of time are: Dog reactiveness: especially if we will be going out exploring I want to make sure everyone is always safe. Triggers: if your dog is protective of toys/food. Loud noises or busy places. Cues or signals they give: like bathroom cues , attention signs or any other quirky things your specific dog may give as each dog is different but wonderful in their own way. Feeding: if your dog has any dietary requirements, specific feeding schedule etc. Medication/allergies if these apply.

A typical day

Depending on your pets needs and energy levels these activities will vary from dog to dog. For a high energy food driven dog, I personally with my own dog find best results and focus when doing some walking with simple commands throughout the walk and reward with simple food e.g. their kibble/nuts that I would carry on along the way, I would always wait a good 20 minutes or so after the walk to then feed them their meal while I get them to sit and be patient as best I can (it can be a work in progress). I enjoy various games and activities like some dog puzzles I have gotten that allow the dog to complete simple tasks like opening and moving little doors or flaps to gain access to food, or home made games just wrapping some high reward food up in various layers of tea towels and allow them to sniff and work their way to their reward. For senior or less food driven or motivated dogs I like to keep stress levels to a minimum and have some nice gentle strolls nearby or in familiar places if they are uncomfortable with new excursions and like to keep constant engagement with them to let them know they are not alone and can have plenty of attention or rubs or play time during if they desire. Bonding and creating a relationship is essential so plenty of time playing with their favourite toys, belly rubs or lap time is great to build their trust and ensure they become comfortable while I am present and become happy to see me. Regardless of your dog's needs I will ensure to send you some smiling faces and wiggly tails while your furry friend is being looked after.

Pet care experience

I have grown up around all breeds of dogs from small Terrier Chihuahua cross rescues, Pekingese, Staffs to large Rottweilers, Olde English Bulldogs and Labradors. I love all dogs and seeing them have a good time wether that comes from long treks out Plassey or having cuddles and belly rubs. I am confident around all dogs and would not be a shy person in general. With my own dogs I enjoy little bits of training and tricks and rewarding them for being the best boy or girl!

Craig has helped me many times with my Staffy Beau, Beau is a high energy boy who loves to play rough which Craig has no problem with doing and tiring him out. Beau loves his food and does some tricks for Craig and also when they play with Beau's toys Craig is patient and gets him to sit and re channel his energy before engaging in more play
