At 55 and newly retired, I’m active, energetic, and excited to dedicate time to passions I couldn’t fully explore while working full-time and raising a family. I live a very active lifestyle—currently training for another triathlon—and I enjoy staying engaged, dependable, and helpful in my community. My schedule is very open with my wife still working (a teacher), and my kids both grown.

Safety, trust & environment
I provide pet care with the same level of professionalism, responsibility, and attention to detail that I brought to my 30+ year career in training, leadership development, and organizational support. I am a reliable and caring pet and house sitter serving the Frederick and Walkersville, Maryland area, and I understand that caring for someone’s pet also means caring for their home and routines. When caring for pets—whether in my home or in a client’s home—I start by learning each pet’s individual needs, habits, and preferences. I closely follow all instructions related to feeding schedules, exercise, litter or potty routines, medication, and any special care requirements. I believe consistency is key to helping pets feel secure and comfortable while their owners are away. In a client’s home, I treat the space with respect and care, maintaining routines and ensuring the environment remains calm, clean, and safe. I monitor pets for any changes in behavior or health and communicate proactively if anything seems out of the ordinary. I also provide regular updates so owners feel confident and connected while they’re away. If pets are cared for in my home, they are welcomed into a calm, structured environment with close supervision, appropriate activity, and plenty of attention. Safety, cleanliness, and comfort are always priorities. Above all, I care for every pet as if they were my own. Trust is at the core of what I do, and pet owners can rely on me to be attentive, communicative, and dependable ensuring their pets and homes are well cared for at all times.
Information Craig M. would like to know about your pet
It’s important for me to know each pet’s daily routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any medical or dietary requirements ahead of time. I also appreciate learning about a pet’s personality, likes and dislikes, comfort items, and any triggers or anxieties they may have. Knowing how your pet typically responds to new people, other animals, or changes in routine helps me provide the best care possible. When available, a pre-visit or meet-and-greet is extremely helpful. It allows your pet to become familiar with me and their environment while giving me the opportunity to ask questions, observe behaviors, and ensure a smooth transition. This helps reduce stress for your pet and gives you peace of mind knowing they’ll be cared for in a way that feels safe, familiar, and comfortable. 🐾
A typical day
A typical day with the pets I care for is structured, engaging, and tailored to each pet’s personality, energy level, and routine. We start the day with a walk outside for fresh air, exercise, and bathroom breaks. Walks are a great way for pets to explore, stay active, and enjoy mental stimulation, whether it’s a leisurely stroll or a more energetic walk. Throughout the day, I include plenty of indoor playtime to keep pets active and engaged. This may include games like fetch, tug-of-war, puzzle toys, or gentle training activities that encourage focus and confidence. Indoor time is also a great opportunity for social interaction, affection, and bonding—pets receive plenty of attention, reassurance, and positive reinforcement. Depending on the pet, we may enjoy additional outdoor time such as supervised backyard play, sunbathing, or calm exploration. For pets who enjoy enrichment, I like to introduce fun activities such as hide-and-seek with toys or treats, interactive feeders, and calming enrichment exercises that keep their minds busy. Rest and relaxation are just as important as play, so pets also have quiet time to nap, recharge, or enjoy cuddles. Throughout the day, I maintain their normal feeding schedule, medication routines if needed, and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. My goal is to provide a balanced day filled with exercise, enrichment, companionship, and care—so every pet feels happy, relaxed, and at home while you’re away. 🐾

Pet care experience
I am a reliable and caring pet and house sitter serving the Frederick and Walkersville, Maryland area. I bring over 30 years of professional experience in training, leadership development, and organizational support, where trust, responsibility, and attention to detail were essential to my success. These same qualities guide how I care for homes and pets. My career involved extensive travel, which gave me firsthand appreciation for how important it is to have a dependable person caring for your home and animals while you’re away. I’ve often relied on friends and professional services to look after my own property, so I understand the peace of mind pet owners are seeking—and I take that responsibility seriously. My wife and I, along with our two children, are longtime animal lovers. We currently care for a part-time “loaner dog” named Tobi, who stays with us while my mother-in-law travels. Growing up with my three brothers, our household was always full of pets, including dogs, a parakeet, a turtle, hamsters, goldfish, and Persian cats that my mother bred and raised. This lifelong exposure has made me comfortable caring for a wide range of animals and following specific routines and instructions. At 55 and newly retired, I’m active, energetic, and excited to dedicate time to passions I couldn’t fully explore while working full-time and raising a family. I live a very active lifestyle—currently training for another triathlon—and I enjoy staying engaged, dependable, and helpful in my community. As your pet and house sitter, I provide: Attentive, compassionate pet care tailored to your pet’s routine Reliable house sitting, including mail collection and light household oversight Clear communication and regular updates while you’re away Respect for your home, privacy, and detailed instructions I treat every home and pet as if they were my own. Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, you can feel confident knowing your pets and property are in experienced, caring, and trustworthy hands.

I have trusted Craig with my Yorkie since he was a pup. Craig is very caring and loving with my dog. Craig is always ready to play and my dog loves when he is with Craig. Craig is responsible and trustworthy. I not only trust Craig with my dog, but also in my home. I know that my Yorkie will always get his walk in when he is with Craig. I highly recommend Craig to be a great pet caregiver
