Loving Care When You’re Not There

Animals have always been a huge part of my life — not just as pets, but as family. I’ve raised and cared for everything from dogs and cats to rats, snakes, and even ferrets (I once stopped on a highway in Illinois to rescue one!). At one point, I had four dogs under one roof, and yes — they still managed to take up most of the bed. What makes me different from other sitters is that I truly understand the quirks, personalities, and needs of all kinds of animals. I don’t just “watch” pets — I bond with them, respect their routines, and treat them like they’re my own. Whether your pup needs long walks, your cat needs quiet cuddles, or your ferret needs a little adventure, I’ve got the experience (and heart) to give them the care they deserve.

Craig came to our home to meet us and our dog. He an our Aussie doodle were instant friends. Craig was accommodating to our scheduling change and made us feel very comfortable with leaving our dog in his care. Our dog loved him!

Craig took great care of my three cats while I was away, he spent time with them and gave each of them all the attention they wanted. Craig brought in my mail, emptied my dehumidifier every day and kept my house looking lived in. I will definitely use Craig in the future and can highly recommend his services.

Really happy with Craig as he just went above and beyond for me. He was available on short notice, sent me lots of pictures, respectfully checked in appropriately on anything that was unusual or might need clarification (like when my dog didn't want to go out to potty one afternoon he texted to ask if he should be concerned), washed my sheets, fed my dogs steaks and pork chops (after asking for my permission), and even picked me up from the airport. He's super easy going and easy to get on with and I will definitely book with Craig again and recommend him to my friends. If you're looking for a mature, responsible, reliable adult who loves animals and will take care of yours like his own, Craig is your pet sitter.

Important Things I’d Love to Know About Your Pet Before House Sitting: • Daily routine: What’s their usual schedule for meals, walks, playtime, and bedtime? • Feeding details: How much, how often, and any special diets or food allergies? • Health needs: Medications, supplements, past injuries, or anything I should keep an eye on? • Behavior quirks: Are they shy with strangers, leash reactive, protective of toys, or have any habits I should be aware of? • Commands they know: What words or hand signals do they respond to best? • Social preferences: How are they with other dogs, cats, people, or kids? • House rules: Are pets allowed on furniture, in certain rooms, or crated at night? • Emergency contacts: Your vet’s info and anyone else I should call if something comes up. I want your pet to feel safe, happy, and as close to their normal routine as possible — so the more I know, the better I can care for them just like you would!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
