Availability

I work from home, so as long as you have reliable WiFi I can be with your pet a lot of the day & all of the night. It helps if a dog is able to be alone for up to 4 hours, but not a requirement, that’s something we can discuss at our meet and greet!

Safety, trust & environment

I’m very diligent about all safety aspects. I am on a lost dog recovery team that works on reuniting lost pets with their owners. Doing that work, I take every opportunity to learn how a dog got loose to tighten up my personal protocols. I’m often told that after several failed attempts at sitters, I’m the only one a few of my clients can trust with their counter-surfing, into-everything pups because I follow all instructions to a tee & keep anything they can get into out of reach.

Information Courtney T. would like to know about your pet

I usually go over everything at the meet and greet, but I like to know the dog's daily eating schedule, their daily activity schedule, and if they have any medications that need to be taken. I am experienced with taking care of animals that are other animal reactive, and also animals that are shy/timid and need timing warming up to me. I haven't met an animal yet doing Rover that I don't absolutely love and has become part of my animal family!

A typical day

I love dogs that like to walk, run, and/or play, but if they're a couch potato I love that too! I tailor my pet sitting and dog walking experiences around the dog's typical day, whatever that may be. I work from home, so when I'm pet sitting your animal, I will be with them most of the day all of the night.

Pet care experience

Hi! I’ve been involved with dogs my whole life and they are my life;) I have worked with and fostered many rescue dogs, including working through various issues with many different dogs, using positive reinforcement and love. My rescue experience has mainly been focused on herding and working breeds (border collies, Australian shepherds, Australian cattle dogs, and German shepherds) as well as bully breeds. Since I’ve started dog walking and sitting about 10 years ago, I’ve broadened my horizons with Great Danes, poodles, labs, huskies, golden retrievers, Jack Russell terriers, and chihuahuas to name a few. In short, I’m experienced with all different types of dogs, large and small, and I truly love them all! I specialize in working with shy and/or skittish dogs and ones that have certain behavioral quirks. I’m a strong believer in getting dogs outside to increase their physical and emotional health and can handle dogs of any activity level, as I’m active myself. In addition to my rescue work, I work as a volunteer on a lost dog search team, so I’m very careful about proactively taking any and all safety precautions to ensure that your pet is safe, secure, and happy when you get back! Whether I’m walking your dog daily or staying with them while you’re away, rest assured they’re in good hands. I have two dogs of my own and know how hard and important it is to find someone you trust. That’s where I come in! We raised our first pup from 8 weeks old & then adopted another young dog a year later. Jake & Lucy taught me more about unconditional love, patience, & how each dog has their own unique personality more than any other could have better, as have the many fosters that have blessed our doorstep. They both passed at 15 YO due to old age, but remain in our hearts forever. Since then, we adopted a 4 YO bonded pair whose owner had died. We learned from friends of the owner what a chaotic life they had and have been spending the last 6 months showing them routine, stability & boundaries. They will never replace Jake & Lucy but they have quickly worked their way into our hearts & lives that just fit like puzzle pieces. Like I say about all of my dogs, “They aren’t perfect, but they’re perfect for me!”

Courtney is an excellent sitter! She house sat for our 2 small dogs, one with special needs with medicine 3x a day. She spent a lot of time with them and was very communicative throughout each day during her house sitting. Our dogs love her, even our very shy dog! We highly recommend her for any dog service needs!

Courtney was reliable, showing up when she said she would (even earlier!) and she cared very much about keeping the dogs to their normal schedule & routine as much as possible. She was awesome at sending updates & caring for our dogs and house.

Courtney recently checked on our cat while we were away for a week and she is awesome! Really great communication, very professional, and super nice. I would definitely hire her again.
