Pet care experience
Student Animal-expert
I have a domestic shorthair cat and a family miniature Yorkshire Terrier, but I have had pets for as long as I can remember. Animals have always been a keen interest and passion of mine; I struggle to understand why people would not desire a four-legged family member. I understand that pet care can be a laborious and tedious task for some people, but I am not ‘some people’. I thrive in an animal’s presence and get genuine enjoyment from taking care of them. It is no hard task for me. Their precious and adorable features may have won me over initially, but their unique and charmingly silly personalities intrigued me - I want to understand what goes on inside their heads. This led me to pursuing an ‘Animal Welfare and Behaviour’ degree with Oxford Brookes University. I have over 2 years of experience studying and supporting animal care, backed up by achieving my level 4 and 5 qualifications, and going on to do my level 6. I have lots of hands-on experience thanks to the animal sanctuary at Solihull College, where my course takes place. I also previously volunteered at ‘Fat Fluffs Rabbit Rescue’, for 9 months in 2024, which involved daily health checks, administering medication, cleaning of enclosures, changing water, feeding, grooming and providing lots of enrichment and fuss to the rabbits there. Furthermore: in 2020 I oversaw the birth and helped raise two litters with my previous cat (we kept one of the kittens, who is now my cat named Clover). In 2023 we got a new puppy (the miniature Yorkshire terrier named Benji) who I helped rear and house train. In 2024, I helped a couple with their injured dog in London by applying gauze to an open wound. I may be a student, but I am responsible, reliable, and trustworthy, and this job allows me to be flexible with work and my studies. Your pet’s health and welfare are paramount to me, so I cater to their individual needs, respect and love them with everything that I have. Etiquette and decorum are also values I work hard to maintain so I ensure you that if you request a house-sitting or drop-in, you can have confidence that your house will be in good hands with me. I look forward to meeting and getting to know your pets and their one-of-a-kind and special personalities!

Safety, trust & environment
Boisterous or calm, big or small, shy or aggressive, no pet is too much for me to handle. Challenges help me learn and I have no fear of especially large or scary dogs or aggressive cats. I am very good at following instructions so if your pet has any special requirements, be sure to write it down on a note and I will follow it meticulously. I plan to do university work while watching your pets, so I plan to take regular breaks to check up on them

Schedule
I am currently on break from university for the summer so right now I am available most days. When I go back to university, I will have less time avaliable, but this work gain more experience working with animals. I can multi-task university assignments and work by bringing my laptop with me when house-sit. I assure you that you pets will be well-monitored when I do this as I plan to take regular breaks and work in the same room as your pet. If you would rather I did not multi-task this way please let me know!
