Some important things I’d like to know include: ● Your pet’s daily routine (feeding, walks, potty schedule, bedtime) ● Any medical conditions, medications, or allergies ● Favorite toys, treats, and activities ● Fears or triggers (storms, fireworks, strangers, other animals, etc.) ● How they behave around people and other pets ● Any commands or training they’re working on ● Emergency contact information and your preferred veterinarian ● Any special instructions or house rules you’d like me to follow The more I know about your pet ahead of time, the better I can make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
A typical day
Every pet is different, so I love getting to know their personality and what makes them happiest! Depending on their age, energy level, and owner’s preferences, I enjoy: ● Going on walks or hikes ● Playing fetch, tug-of-war, or other favorite games ● Providing enrichment activities and puzzle toys ● Practicing basic commands and rewarding good behavior with treats (if approved by the owner) ● Giving plenty of belly rubs, cuddles, and one-on-one attention ● Spending time outdoors in a secure yard ● Keeping a consistent routine for meals, potty breaks, and playtime ● Taking photos and sending updates so owners can see how much fun their pets are having! My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, active, and comfortable while their family is away.

I have been a lifelong dog owner and have previous paid experience caring for pets. Through both personal and professional experience, I understand that every pet has its own unique personality, routine, and needs. I have experience feeding, walking, playing with, and providing companionship to dogs, as well as ensuring they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and love while their owners are away. As a special education teacher, I am patient, responsible, dependable, and detail-oriented. I am comfortable following detailed care instructions, maintaining consistent routines, administering basic medications if needed, and keeping owners updated with messages and photos for peace of mind. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience for both pets and their families.

Courtney is very consistent when pet sitting and made sure to care for my pup. She also housesat while watching my dog and left my home as clean or cleaner than I left it. She communicated when needed and respected the house rules well.
Courtney Russum has been a dependable and trustworthy caregiver for our three dogs (fur babies)—two Pomeranians and one Siberian Husky—whenever we are away on vacation, typically for two weeks or longer at a time. She provides excellent care by feeding and watering them according to their routine, administering their joint health medication as directed, taking them outside for toileting, and ensuring they receive regular walks, play time, and exercise. In addition to caring for our pets, Courtney stays in our home while we are away, where she is responsible for disarming and rearming our home security system, using the garage door keypad, and keeping our home clean, organized, and well maintained. We have complete confidence in her reliability, responsibility, and the exceptional care she provides for both our pets and our home. I highly recommend her to care for our fur babies and know she will provide the same care for your pups!
