Paisley Oak Boarding

We offer boarding on our 1/4 acre farm in the coastal forests of Monterey. I grew up in Salinas raising and training retrievers, caring for and showing livestock, and rescuing any animal I found in need. I started pet sitting and dog walking in 2001 and opened my doggy daycare in 2008. I started participating in dog sports with our Bernese Mountain Dogs in 2009 and competed in dog shows with our Keeshonden until 2024. I am also an approved foster home with Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, South County Animal Rescue, Rescue Rabbit Rock, Animal Friends Rescue Project, and 831 Pawdyguard. Our animals: We have one resident dog, a Keeshond named Cress. We have mini pigs, bunnies, chickens, and kitties. If your dog has a strong drive to chase small animals, they may not be the best fit here. We have a quiet, separate space for boarding cats and small animals like rabbits, birds, and hamsters. If you have a quiet older dog, we have a separate space set up for older pups so they are safe from enthusiastic younger pups. One rescue we foster for specializes in special needs and senior dogs. We have adopted senior, blind, and deaf dogs and feel comfortable with most special needs pups. Your pets have my full attention when they are here. Supervision and engagement are essential to them having a great experience. My normal daily activities include gardening, cooking, long walks, and enjoying our little homestead. All this is easily done with your pups by my side. Our entire property is fully fenced, at least 6ft on all sides. Dogs that are used to sleeping in the room with their person are invited into our room with or without a crate. Pets are always allowed on couches and beds, please let me know if you do not allow this at home and we will be sure to enforce the same rules here.

Always the best time at Cori’s house :) Nemo is well taken care of and we receive frequent updates. We trust only a few people to take care of our elderly dog, and we’re so grateful that Cori knows just how to care for him.

Cori was AWESOME!!! She slowly introduced our dogs to her home and family and this was one of the first times my little dog didn’t cry for me when I left! She has a huge front yard and backyard and the photos and videos she sent me looked like the dogs had so much fun! Normally my dogs cry when they see me when I pick them up, but they were more sad to leave Cori! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our pup had a great time staying with Cori and received lots of love and attention from her. She sends updates throughout the day and returns messages promptly. We would definitely return next time we are in town on vacation. Highly recommend!

Schedule

Our day begins at 6:30am by heading out to the yard. Breakfast is typically between 7-8am. I see my kids off to school and then break up pups into groups of 2-3 for walks around the neighborhood. Around noon we do “naps” with bones or their favorite toys. The afternoon is spent in the yard as I garden or work on whatever project I’m currently working on. Dinner is between 5-6pm followed by walks. Bed time is between 9-10pm, though young puppies will be let out again in the night and very early morning.

Pets

A typical day

Every pup will have a different idea of a good time. Older pups will have lots of quiet time curled up at my feet or snuggled on my lap. Young energetic dogs get long walks around south Salinas and Toro parks, access to our large yard, toy collection, and of course, our own energetic Keeshond, Cress.

I like to know your dog’s normal routine so your pup’s day remains as consistent as possible while they are away from you. When do they like to wake up? When are they used yo going out to potty.
