Pet care experience

Experienced dog handler & pet carer

I've taken care of a wide range of dog breeds, particularly experienced in working breeds, reactive dogs and also lap dogs or small breeds, with years of work and qualifications in walking, sitting and dog training. In 2021 I started my own dog walking business which has been expanding ever since and in 2022 I received qualifications in Dog Emotion & Cognition and worked in a doggy daycare and training centre where I shadowed a professional dog trainer and honed my skills in training. I own, raised and trained my own Malinois, another Malinois as well before my current, previously owning Springer Spaniels and Border Collies, and trained with leash-reactive dogs using positive reinforcement and redirection to correct unwanted behaviours. But dogs aren't all I've worked with! I'm an equestrian with years of experience competing in show jumping, cross country and eventing as well as working on a yard. This included mucking out, riding and lunging, grooming, feeding and leading in lessons. On the smaller side, I own two cats and have grown up with cats ranging from kittens to seniors who require medication and special care. I'm a fond advocate for cat nutrition and enrichment as cats deserve as good a treatment as our dog companions do!

Sasha and Murphy had a great time with Connor and seemed to settle with him really well. Updates throughout the day were great and Conner didn’t even get put off by Sasha’s snoring 😂. We would definitely use Connor again.

Schedule

I have returned to dog walking, pet sitting & dog training full-time for the forseeable future so all my time and attention will be put into my routine and providing the best possible care for you dogs. I have full week-day availability and weekends are to be determined at the moment but your pets are my priority so I can be flexible, don't hesitate to ask. As I care for my own Belgian Malinois, I do balance my work with the needs of my dog. If you have a particularly social dog who might like some company on a walk, it can be arranged to introduce and walk alongside my stooge if it's a compatible fit! This is only to be happen upon request and discussion so do not worry!

Safety, trust & environment

I can do a range of visits, from daily check-ins where I will enter, feed and walk your pooch to make sure they go toilet and get some socialization and play as well as an enriching walk, and also full day or night care in my own home on the condition your dog is dog and cat friendly; Whilst any boarding dogs will be seperated from my pets, it is a priority to avoid stress to any animals. I provide extremely engaging walks and play throughout the day, sniffing to receive mental stimulation is a very important aspect in a dogs life and with my walks and care they will have all the time they need to sniff and explore. I provide Snuffle Matts, cleaned safely and regularly that can be used by all my clients to be fed from to make eating dinner more enriching. I'll give hundred percent of my affection and cuddles to your pup to make them feel loved and happy.

A typical day

Mental stimulation is just as important as physical so I provide plenty of sniff breaks, time to relax, allowing to smell other dogs if possible as well as runs, training sessions and games of fetch. I practice their training on my walks and visits to ensure they're always learning and listening. Happy to fill puzzles or lick mats and offer supervised chews.
