Dog lover - west side of Vancouver

I am a dog lover through and through! I just recently had to say good-bye to my 10-year-old French Mastiff, Maximus and it broke my heart. I work from home and she was by my side every day, we had so much fun together. I am not ready to get another dog of my own and have so much love, time and attention to give that caring for someone else’s pet is the perfect solution. Fitness and the outdoors are a huge part of my life and I love daily walks, going to the gym, running, hiking, etc. My first dog, a male 140 lb French Mastiff developed Megaesophagus at 5 years of age and we built him a Bailey Chair so he could be upright when he ate. I have cared for my friend’s dogs in the past which included Rottweilers and Pit Bulls, some were senior or ill that required daily medications and treatments. I live in the beautiful Kerrisdale area of Vancouver. Every direction I walk are gorgeous tree lined streets and parks as well as a short drive to the beaches, Fraser River and Pacific Spirit. I am very present when walking dogs while ensuring they are safe and happy. I am also able to send photos either during the walk or at home.

Connie was the most conscientious pet sitter I have EVER HAD. Communication during our planning stage was easy and thorough. While I was away, I received daily updates, text messages and pictures showing Roger thriving in her care. When I picked him up, he was cheerful and in perfect condition. Roger happens to be a tame and beloved but opinionated house rabbit. He's not exactly a beginner-friendly pet. Being new to rabbits, Connie did research and listened to my recommendations and was able to provide a safe, happy, healthy, rabbit-friendly space for him in her home, which takes significant attention and effort! I also genuinely feel she enjoyed his unique company and silly, spicy personality, which made me feel so much better about leaving him. I am really truly grateful for her service, and would absolutely recommend Connie as someone who would do a great job looking after your furry family member, should they be so lucky!!

Connie was everything we hoped for and more in a dog sitter! She loved Charlie like her own and was very attentive to her needs and preferences. She shared pictures and updates and made us feel so comfortable leaving her. You can tell she has so much experience with and love for dogs. We will definitely be rebooking with her!

Connie S. would pup sit my late pup Gus. I would trust her implicitly. She is wonderful with dogs and Gus was always thrilled to see her. You couldn’t do any better than Connie.

I am currently working from home and can be flexible for walks with the pups. I can take a lot of breaks throughout the day and I enjoy getting outdoors (even in the rain) for a good walk.

Safety, trust & environment

I will have an open discussion with you before sitting or walk your pet about what your expectations are and how I can meet them. I'd love to find out about your pet's personality and preferences so everyone is happy in this new situation.

A typical day

I enjoy daily walks that would offer pups different smells and areas fun for them to explore. I like to take dogs through my neighborhood, local parks, Kits or Spanish Banks, Fraser River and Pacific Spirit.

I would like to know if your dog has any preferences, fears or odd behaviors. I’ll accommodate them, always keeping the dog's safety at the forefront. How long a walk does your dog like? Do they need to be leashed all the time? If they prefer quieter residential streets or okay with busier streets, beaches or parks.
