Safety, trust & environment

I respect each client's home as if it were my own. I am attentive to details and leave client spaces the way I found them. I am mindful of cleaning up after pets and will dispose of pet waste as soon as I am aware of it. I approach animals in a unprovoking manner and pay attention to their reactions to maintain a fear free environment. I am responsive and communicative and make sure to coordinate with clients to provide the desired care to their pets, discuss emergency procedures, and provide updates on the services that I'm providing.

Information Collin K. would like to know about your pet

With your input, I'm glad to accommodate my caregiving to any particular routine that you have with your pet when it come to physical activity (including favorite toys), diet and allergies, and personal quirks (only drinks from sink, nervous around kids, easily spooked by cars, loves chin scratches, etc.).

A typical day

I am all about providing interactive play and mental stimulation through sensory experience. Dogs and cats are social creatures, and I aim to provide the socialization that they desire and are comfortable with. I find that walking dogs in areas with limited city noise and plenty of natural smells and other sensory objects like water or foliage is helpful for their mental satisfaction. Playing chase, fetch, treat puzzles, and tug-o-war are other fun and stimulating games I like to play with dogs. With cats, I aim to stimulate their hunting instincts by mimicking prey-like moments and behaviors with their toys. Providing an opportunity for you cat to hunt and catch their toys is how I aim to stimulate them mentally and physically. I've found with my own cat that encouraging a natural progression into eating, grooming, and resting after play time helps to reduce destructive attention seeking behavior. I am more than willing to provide these activities to your cat as well.

Responsive and Adaptable Caregiving

Pet care experience

I grew up with family dogs and frequently interacted with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments at friends and neighbors homes. I have been honored with the trust of my friends, family, and coworkers in the caretaking of their dogs (and cats), often when they are out of town or when experiencing disruptions to their schedules. I have provided care to elder dogs needing medications and help with mobilization; to puppies needing active play, behavioral consistency, and clean-up; and also to dogs with separation anxiety and other behavioral tendencies like food aggression. I often receive requests on short notice to provide pet care and am glad to provide relief to those needing the peace of mind having their pet's needs met. While I am not certified to provide behavioral training to dogs, I am more than willing to reinforce training(s) that a dog may be working on or have established with their owners.

Collin has been a terrific help to us. We have 4 Huskies that he has cared for both as a dog/house sitter for several days at a time, and also as single visit care to let them out for exercise and feed them when we were to be gone for more than half a day. He is caring and responsible and I am completely confident with him watching our pack.

Collin has watched our dog Ella many times over the last 5+ years. He has always been reliable, responsible, and timely. Of course, Ella loves hanging out with Collin! It's a great feeling to know that when he is watching her, she is well cared for.
