As someone who has had dogs underfoot for majority of their life, and no longer has one of their own, I'd love the chance to assist you in the taking care of your furry friend! I have countless years of experience caring for dogs of varied breeds, including puppy training, so no matter the breed or age, you can be assured your friend will be in good care. I moved to DC ~2 years ago from NYC where I also cared for dogs in a city atmosphere, so I am comfortable taking care of dogs at varying levels of socialization and am sensitive to their city exposure and level of comfortability while we are out. I'd love to work with you to take care of your special family member as well as you do!

Colleen was great! Colleen clearly loved my puppy and I felt comfortable that she was in good hands. Colleen asked all the right questions, and sent regular updates. I could tell from the photos that my puppy had a great time with her. Lots of good walks, play time, zoomies, and snuggles. I will definitely be asking Colleen to take care of my dog next time.
Colleen is the absolute best! She has now watched our dog several times and she’s always super communicative and Teddy always comes home happy and well cared for. She even went above and beyond by making him a dog friendly “pupsicle” for his birthday - so adorable!
Another great stay with Colleen. Our dog remy really has a great time and wonderful care with her. Will book again when we travel.

Schedule
I work from home - meaning I have flexibility in my schedule to match the normal routines of your pup :) I am available for boarding care both during the week and on weekends.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a spacious 800 sq. foot apartment, which after many stays with large, high-energy dogs, proved to be more than adequate roaming space for a happy pup. In addition to lots of nearby green space and dog parks (visited at your discretion), I also have my own private, 200 sq ft. outdoor enclosed patio, to which your pup will have supervised access to.
A typical day
I am an active person (running/hiking/outdoor sports) and enjoy applying those lifestyle choices into how I ensure dog sitting happiness. My goal is to return your dog happy and exercised (mentally and physically!). There are numerous dog parks and frisbee runs in my neighborhood, and if preferred to not partake, the green spaces/parks as well as the leashed walking/running paths are also great for ensuring ample outdoor time. While we are at home, special care is taken to allow tired dogs to rest and relax in their normally preferred sunny spot, or that they are provided with mentally stimulating "games" for the higher energy dogs.
