I have a large, mostly fenced-in yard on a quiet dead-end road. The fence ends near the water's edge but I fence the water off in winter. I also have an invisible electric fence which I could use if owners prefer but likely not necessary. My playful dog Dory loves other dogs. Life vests and towels provided for swimming and paddling activities. Pets are free to sleep anywhere in the house they find comfortable, and the central air conditioning ensures comfy relief on hot summer days.

Please advise if your pup has any special needs, medications, or behaviors (such as toy, food, or leash aggression) that I need to be aware of. Also, it's important to know whether your pup does not get along with certain type of dogs and whether he/she can be off leash on trails.
A typical day
There are multiple trails for walking near my house, as well as snowshoeing, nordic skiing, swimming, paddle sports, romping in my large yard, and even agility equipment if your dog is so inclined. I live on a large body of fresh water and during warm weather the dogs love to run and romp on my sandy beach and the sandbars. I plan indoor activities for inclement weather. Safety is always paramount and all dogs wear life jackets during deep water activities.

I live in an ideal area to swim, run, and hike as well as work on training including agility. I've enjoyed caring for friends' dogs for decades and they become my extended family. I guarantee fun, exercise, comfort, socialization, and lots of love for your pup, and I have central air conditioning for comfy summer heat relief. Plus you get daily personal updates and photos from your pup while you're apart. It is best that dogs who come are big enough to enjoy trail walks and some romping, as many large dogs visit who can play rather roughly. Some breeds and their mixes are not allowed, though I highly respect their responsible dog owners: Pit Bulls, American Bull Dogs, Malamutes, Akitas, Rotweillers, German Shepherds, Chow Chows and Canary Dogs.

Colleen sends great pictures of our dogs enjoying hikes off leash and they were happy to see her again. She even managed a last minute diagnosis of anaplasmosis and made sure they got the medication needed twice daily. We were surprised that there were 5 or 6 other dogs also staying there but grateful that Colleen managed our dogs’ stress with that and didn’t bother us with the interaction issues while we were on vacation.
Colleen is INCREDIBLE! Millie loves being with her. The walks in the woods, the training, and the river. A dog’s dream. I love it because of Colleen’s communication and how easy it is to drop Millie off and know that she is safe.
Colleen is wonderful and our dog was happy and exhausted when we picked him up. She keeps them active and pays great attention to each dog to make sure they all get along. We are so grateful to Colleen and feel lucky to have found her.
Thanks for giving Maisie so much play time and exercise and love! She is on her bed now snoring with legs twitching - probably dreaming about running with all her new friends.
