Safety, trust & environment

If I am to take your pet outside they will always be leashed unless in a securely fenced area. Treat bag always full and ready to reinforce good behavior. Detailed lists of anything you do normally with your dog are awesome. I am always kind to pets, no physical force. I want to do all your dog’s favorite things with them to fulfill their needs. Please let me know if your dog is dog or human aggressive or nervous around new people. I am very happy to accommodate and make sure they have ample time to be introduced to me, and make sure they have plenty of distance on walks. I will do free meet and greets so you can meet me and your dog can adjust to a new person.

Information Colleen M. would like to know about your pet

Any problem behaviors like jumping, biting, resource guarding, reactivity, and house soiling, is helpful to know about in advance. I always bring treats with me, let me know if your dog has any allergies or restrictions. Please let me know if your dog is dog or human aggressive. I am very happy to accommodate and make sure they have ample time to be introduced to me, and make sure they have plenty of distance from others on walks. I will do free meet and greets so you can meet me and your dog can too.

A typical day

Drop in visits: Full day can include a max of 2 visits. One morning, and one evening. I will always potty, feed, and exercise your pet however we have discussed, and make sure they are healthy and happy before I leave them. My visits can last up to an hour. On a days where you are gone only a half a day, your pet will get one visit. Walks: Typical walks will be on a 6ft leash and the dog given all the opportunities they want to sniff. I can walk on a 10ft leash as well if a harness is provided for even more sniffing enrichment. Neighborhood walks I also offer as a training session to teach your dog loose leash walking. I recommend this if this is something you are struggling with. You are welcome to join us as well if we plan a training walk. I use R+ techniques to teach dogs loose leash walking. Note that if it is a training walk, my goal won’t be to go very far in distance. But the brain work required from dogs almost always wears them out faster than several miles of walking. I won’t go over 30 minutes for training walks. Neighborhood walks without extra training I can do longer. My availability: I work full time, so my visits have to revolve around that schedule. Weekdays I can do morning visits between 5-6 am, and evening visits after 4:30. Keep this in mind when booking with me and how that fits into your dog’s schedule. Weekends are open for any time of day.

Pet care experience

Started diving into the world of dog training when I was 16. Got hooked on it with my family’s senior lab. Then I got a puppy. Now I am 4 years with my current lab, with a Champion Trick dog title, 2 scentwork titles, and a Rally title, under our belt. I have a goal to join Jean Donaldson’s Dog Trainers Academy and help pet parents train their pups as my career. Kindness, understanding, and patience as my main tools of choice. I have experience with mainly medium to large dogs, horses, and cats. I love all the personalities and quirks all the pets bring to the table. Give me all the crazy! I understand the heart ache when you leave your pets behind for a time, so I try my best to make them have such a good time they forget you’re gone. I mysef also have a difficult pet to have other people take care of, and the relief you feel when you find someone you can trust. I hope I can be that relief for you. Want to learn more about me? I’m very active on Instagram, I post about all things life and dogs!

Colleen was great to work with in the midst of a family emergency that had me scrambling for last-minute cat-sitting.

Colleen is a wonderful human who will care for your pets like they are her own. She went above and beyond the call of duty with my senior dog. She communicated daily, sent pictures and videos. I highly recommend Colleen to care for your pets when you need someone while you are away.

Excellent service. I was anxious about using Rover for the first time, but Colleen put me at ease. She definitely knows what she is doing, pays attention to detail, did whatever I requested, kept me posted and was very reliable. She even made herself available to help out last minute with a busy schedule. Very much appreciated !
