Pet care experience

Looking for a reliable dog sitter?

I have many years of experience with dogs from owning, loving, sitting, fostering and volunteering. As a family, we have had four beloved dogs, each living a long and healthy life. From special needs (3-legged Northern rescue) to high energy (10 week old Dalmatian) to the rescue no one wanted (large mixed breed) to our current terrier mix, we have been very fortunate to have the best dog each and every time! We have been pet sitting for friends for some time, allowing us to enjoy the occasional company of other dogs, while helping out friends. We have decided to expand and formalize this practice and are looking forward to caring for other dogs through Rover! Our home has a large, fenced yard with room inside to allow for private space, if needed. We live close to St. Vital Park which is a great location for dog walks. I will be happy to follow your instructions in caring for your pet and will send regular updates with pictures each day so you can see what your pet is up to and know that he is receiving lots of loving and care. My number one concern while caring for your dog is safety. Our back yard is secure and we are very careful going out for walks. My preference is not to take any dogs to a dog park. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to set up a meet and greet. I am genuinely looking forward to meeting you and your pet!

Colleen and her family are amazing! So patient with the pooches for their first visit! Walks, cuddles, medications as needed, and loads of pictures! Can’t imagine leaving them with anyone else. Her care went beyond our expectations. We will be contacting her soon regarding our trip in the fall.

Thank you so much to Colleen, her family and her dog Henry for making Charlie feel so welcome and loved. We loved receiving daily updates and pictures of Charlie while we were away. Colleen went above and beyond when caring for our little guy, we’re so lucky to have found such a wonderful sitter!

Colleen, her special little guy Henry, and her entire family were the perfect hosts. Henry was such a comfort to Archie, who hasn't had much experience being apart from us. And Colleen did such a great job putting our minds at ease with updates. So, so happy to have found this sitter!

I wish I could keep Colleen a secret so that her schedule is always clear for whenever Truffle Bear needs a sitter. Truffle is 10 years old, and we had just made a 1,600 km move when he needed a sitter. I'm always nervous when I have to leave him, but Colleen's photos and updates reassured me and kept me relaxed. Truffle probably had more of a vacation than I did! Colleen went above and beyond with keeping Truffle entertained and happy, even purchasing a bag of dog treats for him that fit his very particular dietary restrictions. I will absolutely be booking with Colleen whenever I'm out of town, and I'm sure Truffle will be excited to go back. She and her family are a gem.

Please advise me of your dog's typical routine. If it varies from our typical routine, we can easily alter it so that your dog has as little disruption and change in his day as possible. If he/she does not like meeting other dogs, going to parks or even walks, certain treats, etc. I will ensure that his stay takes all that into account with the goal of keeping his disruption to a minimum. Staying at someone else's home is usually enough for them.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
